Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

do you have any idea why this is? I've always had issues with DV on remuxes and have resorted to always getting full Blu-ray .m2ts's. Perhaps some valuable information is stripped out during the remuxing process. A Bluray iso instead is a perfect 1:1 bit-to-bit copy. Could be. There is no quality l...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Right now, I've just obtained John Wick 3 and am using the tool made by @Grencola. I tried it on a Blu-ray of Transformers a couple weeks ago and while it played it gave me that loading issue at certain points, except it would just refuse to play after a certain point. I had to do the manual MP4 Mu...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

First would like to thank everyone on this forum for their invaluable input, and yusesope for the Dolby Vision muxing technique. I successfully did couple of dual layer mp4 for myself, those play on LG OLED65C perfectly. However, as I started deepening into the process, some issues emerged, and I n...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Wow, much progress being made. I have extensive knowledge in this area but it seems @yusesope's got the bases covered here! Currently, I have been enjoying Dolby Vision quite nicely on my TCL TV. It took a https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=18602&p=76358#p76356 lot of growing pains b...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I actually already tried it with DVDFab 11.0.3.1, the TV said there were no video tracks on the mp4. Did they add more options to the newer versions? They did, yeah: https://m.dvdfab.cn/dvd-fab-new try the latest version with single-layer conversion Hm, I'll have to try it then. Just waiting for th...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Well, I thought I had it figured out but maybe not. The .MP4 the MP4 Muxing tool someone on here made played the video fine, but the audio was all messed up. Played fine for a few seconds, then there would be glitches and stuff. Tried doing it manually, same thing. Then I downloaded a REMUX and use...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

dvhe.04.07 and dvhe.05.07 are the only "Device Capabilities" mentioned for chipset-based TVs This is right. But it simply means that a television needs to support dvhe.04.07 and dvhe.05.07 to be Dolby Vision certified. And nothing prevents a manufacturer to go further and allow his television to re...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I read the Dolby carefully and i do not see where Dolby wrote that tv should not allow decoding dvhe.07. Dolby only wrote that "This table lists example devices and their capabilities specified by Dolby Vision profiles and levels strings". Do you know that some UHD Blu-ray player can decode dvhe.04...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

... but TVs are only supposed to support dvhe.04.07/dvhe.05.07 ... Why tv should only support single layer "Netflix DV" when they can decode dual layer DV ? Where did you see that dvhe.07 should only be decoded by UHD BD players ?? Maybe because Dolby said so? It is not so simple as profile 5 not h...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

OK, I figured out the problem totally. I have no idea how LG and Vizio TVs are doing Profile 7, but TVs are only supposed to support dvhe.04.07/dvhe.05.07 while UHD BD players can do dvhe.07.06/dvhe.07.07 which is what is mentioned in this thread. When I used dv-profile 5 instead of 7, it worked per...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

You could try CloneBD. Does that work with .mkv files? I was under the impression that it required a full Blu Ray with BDMV folder structure intact and then converts it to a DV MP4, like DVDFab. You need either disc/iso/folder to use CloneBD That's what I thought. Guess I should get some full Blu-r...
