Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

I'd read the fine print there. And not get too excited. I would say we're at least weeks away if not more from seeing anything happen. That's if we're lucky. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk Ofc we are weeks away, but trust me they wont note it if they werent planning on it! rcombs was involved...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

Hi all!. I´m new here!. I´m have done some tests with DV with MKV but I don´t know if there is something strange. I´m using the Dolby Vision Disc Demo from Dolby, that have Dolby Vision and Atmos in all demos that it have, like this screenshot reveal: https://prnt.sc/t5g8pr But when create the MKVs...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

This is playing back with Plex on the 2019 Shield? I actually haven't heard of anyone getting it to work. You can mux them in, but with a PGS subtitle selected during playback, it might play for a second or so, and then it'll pop up with an error and the video will stop. Sorry, my mistake, actually...

Re: Official Dolby Vision MKV spec support

Now that https://github.com/cellar-wg/matroska-specification/pull/390 has landed, mkv now has official, documented support for Dolby Vision in mkv, similar to what was already possible with MakeMKV. With this official spec now available, will MakeMKV be updating to use the official spec? Mike contr...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

Hello guys. I'm new here. I'm curious about the possibility of Dolby Vision and MKV. A question, as I still don't quite understand the subject: When preparing a remux of BD 4K (HDR10/HDR10+ and DV) will be merged in just one video? Will this process reencode? Is it possible to join the two videos w...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

Semi working with the fact that PGS subs etc. doesnt work (most places). And just the direction of getting to have the file in the first place Ah sure, yeah, the PGS issues and lack of chapters support is definitely a shortcoming of the current TS route. Just didn't want to give the newer people th...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

I don't think there's anything "semi-working" about the current TS method at all :). Sure it can be a little tedious and confusing for newer people, but the resulting file will produce the same picture and audio as the eventual DV mkvs. There will still be some use for the TS remuxes in the future ...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

I've got it working. Thanks for your help! When do you think the Dolby Vision MKV standard will be finalised? What is your opinion on how long it will take for the softwares of LG, plex, kodi, etc to implement the changes allowing recognition of DV in a mkv container? Dolby has nothing to do here, ...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

Now we just need it to be merged in and we can start updating yusesopes code to look nice.

Hopefully mike will follow up with an update fast, so we can get some test material
