Re: USA equivalent of Verbatim 43888 Slim USB blu-ray drive

Just following up. Made my purchase from Amazon.uk, delivery to Buffalo NY was only 15 pounds added to the cost of the drive. Well under $200 total. Drive shipped from a supplier in France, tracking was supplied but really didn't offer much for tracking. Last update was from four days ago saying it ...

How'd that overseas drive order work out for you? I see this in the Amazon.UK store: https://amzn.eu/d/76YOqtf 120 Pounds plus 15 Pounds for US delivery...

Re: Now you see me 2 correct playlist

Having the same trouble with this one. Family Video will sell off their "extra" copies of most movies several weeks after they're released. $9.95 or even better $7.95/3 for $21 can be a compelling argument for the right movies. Picked up a copy of Now You See Me 2, UPC 0-31398-25057-9 labe...

SVQ updating on Windoes 7

Just curious - I've been using MakeMKV on a Mac and am now testing it on a Windows 7 64-bit laptop. When I run MakeMKV in my standard user account, I get an error that SVQ updating failed or is disabled (it is enabled in Pref's), but if I Run As Administrator or log into my Admin account the update ...

Re: Doctor Who series six part one (US)

This is the first of the Doctor Who Blu Rays that has NOT been encoded VC-1 - a delightful surprise. My poor MacBook Pro doesn't know VC-1 very well, and the only method I have to convert to a Mac/iTunes-friendly MP4/M4V is QuickTime with the Flip4Mac plug-in... a VERY slow process.

Re: Not ejecting after rip

There's a menu bar eject "menulet" that's built into the OS but needs to be enabled manually. Here's a good write-up as to the how: http://mactoids.com/mac-os-x-leopard-menulets/ It's been kicking around in some form or other since about OS 10.2. I find it incredibly handy. ...And yes, I, ...

Re: List of Blu-ray drives that work

Been using the FastMac drive since January. Slow delivery, no replies to emails, all confirmed, but it's a nice drive that seems to work well. Yeah, the 2x is a bit slow, but it gets the job done.

Re: MakeMKV OSX - Non-Compliant Output File

I've run into this as well. MakeMKV rips the Blu-Ray disc, files of appropriate size are created, but Handbrake (neither the official release nor the above-linked version) recognize the output files. Tried opening them in VLC and got the following errors: " No suitable decoder module VLC does n...
