Re: Do I have to worry about this message?

No, it means that the drive is capable, but not yet enabled in LibreDrive mode. So you don't get a LibreDrive experience, but your drive works as it should (until the next AACS revocation happens).

Tried to flash my BC-12B1ST b 1.00.
Successfully bricked the drive.
Did you brick the drive while flashing MK firmware using an "official" patched flasher, not a dosflash? I really would like to know how it happened, that's odd. The last thing I would like to see is a broken MK firmware...

Re: Bricked WH14NS40 NS50 with DVDFAB

In theory it is possible. With dosflash method it is possible to flash only the boot area, no matter how bricked is the drive. Then the drive will recognize as "wh14ns40 boot" and won't read any disc. But from this state it would be possible to backup the rest of the flash. Then, having a bootable d...

Re: LG BH16NS55 Firmware 1.04 (and possibly other new drives)

That just means it adopted the additional protection that ASUS put in 3.10 and that it's LIKELY that Mike can work around it. I wish you had been able to extract it before flashing the drive. Would have been fun to look at. Yes, most certainly. This likely means that the dosflash code in 3.10 is di...

PS: There is still no (public) way other than DOSFLASH to dump a firmware though.
emphasis mine. There are still few methods available, that work over USB :)

Re: Good news indeed !

here is an older FW updater called: fwupdateroddpt_102.exe It has an even greater model support list (still keeping my fingers crossed that some of those might be UHD compatible with MK FW after all    ): Nah, this is upgrader for the firmware enclosure USB chip (the Asmedia on...

Re: Is there a way to downgrade the firmware on a Buffalo BRUHD-PU3 from BU11 to BU10?

The updater here can update a drive with BU10 to BU11 and that's about it. EDIT: I believe this drive is a rebadge of the LG BU40N or BU50N, so I'm wondering if it might be possible to use LG firmware on it. Thanks for sharing the link. The updater contains firmware for two re-branded HL-DT-ST driv...

What firmware version do you have currently? Does it starts with "A" i.e. A201 A202 or something like that?

Re: Firmware downgrade using official (patched) flasher, the "Ultra hax0r guide"

"Also the other tool from the polnish Webside doesnt recognize it neither." You have an USB enclosure that damages so-called INQUIRY data (drive model and version). While LibreDrive runtime is smart enough to detect this and recognize the real drive behind enclosure Id data, other tools are not. Yo...

Re: Custom firmware

With the MK 3.10 version, the so-called sleep bug is fixed, it seems to be quieter while reading discs, and yes, it still remains friendly thanks to Mike's excellent work. I've upgraded mine to the MK 3.10 version and will be leaving it there. For me it seemed to be much more stable at reading 3-la...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT 3.03

WARNING: DO NOT upgrade the drive to the new 3.10 firmware that ASUS just released. Doing so will (for now) remove the ability to downgrade and remove LibreDrive compatibility. Until Mike has a chance to patch that firmware, but, there's ZERO benefit in upgrading to it anyway. Stick with the MK 3.0...
