No. I insert the disc and the image just keeps spinning. doesn't say anything or give me an error message. It's not the drive because the DVD still plays when I open the movie player.
This is a separate issue. You "forgot" to mention that you are talking about a newly-protected screener disc, right?

Re: AACS 2.1 support

From what I recall standard anydvd iso backups were not working for me with MakeMKV due to lack of discatt.dat The discatt.dat is needed for two things: 1. If bus encryption is present, then discatt.dat contains the read key for bus encryption 2. It contains vid metadata from the disc. Without it i...

Re: MakeMKV v1.14.7 Isn't ripping DVD

I am wondering if anyone else is having this problem. Just went to MakeMKV on my Windows 10 PC which had MakeMKV v1.14.5 on it and was working correctly in every way. It made me upgrade to the new version of MakeMKV and now it won't rip DVDs. It does everything like normal scans disc and brings up ...

Re: Archgon drive with UHD discs

I have an Archgon 8107 series drive with the 1.01 firmware. Today I tried to do my first UHD rip, and it failed spectacularly. I've read several threads that indicate that I might need to downgrade the firmware on the drive, which will then let MakeMKV access UHD discs. How can I do this on MacOS? ...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2019

What I'm really looking for is the ability to play a UHD disk in JRiver Media Center without having to rip it first. Sadly, MakeMKV's ability to decrypt the video stream for playback by another application has been abandoned. What makes you say that? Steaming was abandoned, yes, but the more powerf...

Re: AACS 2.1 support

It had to do with some frames having alternate versions included, and all the frames being usable by the studios to determine which keys were used to pick up those frames and create rips. In theory, one can have 65534 variants of the movie on one disc - all being "correct" but slightly different. I...

Re: AACS 2.1 support

Being able to specify an ISO image to convert to unprotected folder backup would make my life SO much easier. Alternatively doing the same from an encrypted folder backup would also work for me. Do I understand the key points from workflow: - get the (unsupported) disc - backup it into "protected w...

Re: AACS 2.1 support

I think the answer is quite easy. Making a protected ISO and then mounting it with either Windows 10 or any other tool gives us the opportunity to decrypt it with whatever software that is capable to decrypt this disc first. Be it your software or your competitor's. Sometimes your program is first,...

Re: AACS 2.1 support

I usually create a protected iso while waiting for makemkv to support new titles. Why ISO? (I mean "why" in a sense "what is the benefit", not to offend you or discuss what particular workflow or tools are better.) Why not non-decrypted backup (same as ISO but files). Is there any "standard" for pr...
