Have you come across a Buffalo BRUHD-PU3-BK with firmware BF11??
Interesting. I've never ever seen BFxx (or a single reference to it).

Here is the BU12 for BRUHD-PU3 extracted from buffalo.jp. According to the site, it fixed Sony BD-QL media and DVD-RW write protect. How can I make it as MK firmware? Thanks.
Thanks for the link, MK firmware is now available.

Re: Stand By Me 4k aacs 2.1/c v70

Is this protection only on the UK version, or is it on versions released in other countries? AACS 2.1 discs are ridiculously expensive (or at least time-consuming) to make. So far Patriot and Fury were a a single-release "world" version. The main movie has all possible language tracks, both audio a...

I take it the protection 2.1 on Stand By Me is the same as Fury and The Patriot which if I understand correctly cannot be decrypted yet.
This is correct. It will take at least one MakeMKV version update to decrypt these (now the grand total of 3) AACS2.1 discs.

Re: Pioneer BDR-XD05TB an Asus clone?

Now I have another drive, an external Pioneer BDR-XD05TB. The firmware version made me wondering if it is an Asus drive. It has the firmware 3.10 and I used the same version to cross flash my LG and then put on the 1.03mk firmware. Do you get anything in "LibreDrive information" on main page for th...

Re: MakeMKV 1.14.2 and Kodi 18.0

For Linux, a work around can be achieved by editing MakeMKV source code before building https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=16824#p61608 . For MacOS, we don't have access to the MakeMKV source code. A solution can be had, however, by editing libbluray source code and building libluray...

Is it possible to document the discatt format?
It is not only documented, but the libdriveio library that creates and parses it is open-source (LGPL license). All of this is part of MakeMKV open-source package for Linux (library obviously can be built anywhere).

Re: Disable LibreDrive

Here are the instruction how to disable LibreDrive runtime for any particular drive. First, you have to figure out the drive id - open the log file and look for the string that lloks similar to "SDF v05c: ASUS_BC-12B1ST___b_3.00_211512151340_SIKxxxxxx". The single string containing drive name, versi...

Anyway, nothing major. Just a thought.
This is not the question you've asked, but the answer may fit - enable "ask for single drive mode" in preferences.

Re: Can't find any usable optical drives

The 1.14.4 has an option to install an optical drive access service - with this service MakeMKV does not need to be run as administrator, and should be immune to Controlled Folder sandbox.
