Re: AV synchronization issues on almost every UHD disc?
Can I ignore the message or does it cause any potential problems?

Re: AV synchronization issues on almost every UHD disc?
Oh, interesting ...
That error log I posted IS from v1.15.4.
With the previous version (1.15.3), I would get lots of AV synchronization errors with times and frame drop counts, etc.
With the new version (1.15.4), I'm just seeing that one message at the end like I posted.

AV synchronization issues on almost every UHD disc?
I've been using MakeMKV 1.15.3 and a brand new LH WH16NS40 (flashed to WH16NS60 1.02MK firmware). I've been getting lots of AV synchronization issues and I've just installed MakeMKV 1.15.4 and it's still happening. However, instead of multiple AV synchronization issue messages during the ripping, I ...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020
Thanks very much. I've tried 1.02 but I'm also having issues.
However, this thread seems to indicate a bug with MakeMKV (?) that is hopefully fixed with 1.154.4.

Re: Are AV synchronization issues a problem?
I'm also having issues with a brand new LG WH16S40 drive and MakeMKV 1.15.3.
Coco UHD gives me about 10x AV sync issues, and Back To The Future UHD gives me 'Source file is corrupt/invalid' issues.

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020
I've also just purchased a replacement LG WH16NS40 drive and it came with v1.04 firmware. I'm not sure if I did the correct procedure, but I first flashed HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS40-NS50-1.05-NM00900-212005061440 and then cross-flashed to HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.03-NM00600-212005081010 . The original...

Back To The Future 4K - Source file is corrupt? (re: new discs and brand new drive)
I've had an LG WH16NS40 for a while but put it away in storage and when I bought it out it was making grinding noises so I just purchased a brand new drive. I've also purchased brand new Back To The Future 4K (Ultimate Trilogy). However, when I try to rip in MakeMKV 1.15.3, I've been getting differe...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.3
Thanks so much for helping everybody with our questions and helping us better understand HDR/Dolby Vision! I have another question or two as well... What does regular HDR content (ie. HDR10?) look like (re: tracks/layers) compared to Dolby Vision? Does regular HDR content (ie. HDR10?) have a Base La...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020
Oh, sorry ... I think I understand now. The LG WH16NS40 is "UHD Friendly" but is recommended to cross-flash (?) to LG WH16NS60 which is "UHD Official" (and therefore doesn't have the sleep bug). By the way, I seem to remember when I first flashed my WH16NS40 that you had to extract drive-specific ca...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.3
Thanks again so much and I apologize for questions not making sense. I'm trying hard to understand everything. Does "dual layer" simply refer to a Base Layer (BL+RPU) + Enhancement Layer (EL) ? (regardless of which track the enhancement layer is located) Does "single layer" refer to only a Base Laye...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.3
Thanks so much for the information. Are there any tools to see the different layers inside a video track? Also, can I convert between single-layer and dual-layer? For example, I've been told LG WebOS requires dual-layer dolby vision files. However, the Nvidia Shield TV requires single-layer dolby vi...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.3
Does MakeMKV always rip to a single-layer for Dolby Vision? I'm still a little confused about Dolby Vision and HDR regarding the layers. Here is my Spider-Man: Homecoming rip information: General Unique ID : 247964932788870548187686370521633442926 (0xBA8C4F157C8046EDF6BE891A70CECC6E) Complete name :...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020
I've been using an LG WH16NS40 for a while and I think it's dying. It's making a terrible grinding noise and MakeMKV is reporting hash errors. I've ordered a replacement from Amazon (same model) so as long as it has SVC50 (or higher) and MT1959 I should be OK, right? Also, which firmware is recommen...

Re: UHD drives
Hmmm... I'm using an ASUS Maximus Hero X (Z370) that doesn't appear to support legacy IDE mode (AHCI only). Do I have any options? I've made the boot disk but DOSFlash doesn't detect the drive. EDIT: If I can another PC I can use for flashing, can I use DOSFlash to flash 1.02 but also keep the calib...
