Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Is there a current best player?

I've looked at RESET_9999's spreadsheet and it seems like all of them have several problems?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I will compare more movies this weekend, but I'm 99% sure that using the internal player renders better quality (regarless of FEL and lossless audio). Thanks for the information. I should have mentioned I was asking about FEL playback which the LG C1 cannot play. :( I've placed an order (but cancel...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Any updates on the CMv2.9 bug on the newer LG TVs?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I think I misunderstood too. LLDV (Player-Led) should work on all TVs because the player is basically decoding DoVi into HDR10, right?

Are you saying that the Oppo-203 (or clone) will work in TV-Led mode with LG C1?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Thanks... I was looking for something more automated (or remotely controlled/switched via network). Anyways, I still have another week to return my x800m2 to Amazon. I'm learning towards returning it... I know there aren't really any alternatives for FEL playback (besides Oppo) though, but x800m2 ha...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Does anybody have any clever solutions when using a USB HDD on the Sony x800m2? It seems like a pain to unplug the hard drive, connect to a PC and update the movies, and then reconnect it, etc. Are there any wifi hard drives or anything to make this process easier and not require unplugging the driv...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I don't mean to change the subject, but I had another quick (haha) question... Can Dolby Vision be decoded on a PC to display on an HDR monitor? For example, the Alienware AW3423DW QD-OLED PC monitor doesn't support Dolby Vision but it does support HDR10. Can a powerful enough PC decode the Dolby Vi...

Yes it can be done. You will get unofficial MEL.
Is there a large difference between MEL and FEL?

I'm beginning to think it's just not worth the hassle of finding a P7 FEL player. If I can convert P7 MEL to P8 then it opens a much larger set of players, etc.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

What's the thought on replacing P7 FEL with P5 from different sources? It seems like P7 FEL is the problem with most players, right? If I understand correctly, P7 MEL can be converted to P8 without any loss of quality? There are also the UHD movies with only HDR10 but their streaming versions have D...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

So what is the conclusion on the latest bug(s) with DoVi and the LG C1(+) ?

Should DoVi only be played using the LG internal player for now?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I don't want to change the subject, but can I ask a quick question? Is it possible to convert a DV MEL UHD (dvhe.07.06) to DV 8.0 (or is it 8.1) without any loss of quality? I'm trying to convert my rip of The Matrix (1999) which MediaInfo reports the following: Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.07.06...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Well that's depressing. I just purchased my LG C1 77" less than two weeks ago. However, I've learned a ton from you guys on the forum. I can't thank you guys enough for researching this and helping us out! Is there a list of CMv4.0 players? It looks like the Shield TV supports it but obviously ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Can you check the L2 trim in that latest file? (RPU p8.1 L1.L2.L3.L8_cmv40.mp4) It doesn't appear to be working on internal player or Shield TV with LG C1. The previous file (RPU p8.1 L1.L2_cmv29) does have working L2 trim on Shield TV and internal player. The other levels (L1, L3, and L8) are all w...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

please try the cmv4.0 version on your Shield(or TV internal player) and tell us if you get L8 reaction. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tU3VLCA4DltmPAnZD2hWgAIQV5rShykm/view?usp=sharing I've tried this on my LG C1 (latest version) using x800m2 (latest firmware) and no visible changes for L3 or L8.
