Re: Can't see any subtitles with Xtreamer pro or WMP

WMP does not support the MKV container.

For the Xtreamer you must manually enable subtitles within the settings menu of the player, if they still dont show you might have to convert the Blu-ray subtitles into SRT format.

Re: Converted MKV files have no video (only audio)

Your media player only supports H.264 video in the MKV container, the MKV container can hold many different codecs, DVD's use MPEG-2 video so the problem is that your Blu-ray player even though it supports MPEG-2 does not when played from an MKV container. The only solution is to contact the maker a...

Re: Ripping BDs results in 100plus GB output

I believe that happens because of the duplication for foreign language audio/subtitles streams. It re-rips the same video stream but with a different language each time. I manually ripped Wall-E before and has this problem as it was a pain trying to find the track with the correct English audio. It ...

Re: Samsung BD-P4600

So dvds cant be played as Mkv but as dvds. as mkv there only takes ~2Gb but i guess it is cus it is a stripped version, but what i can see is it the codex (mpeg/AVC) that is the probom atm, unless you have an idear DVD's do not use the MPEG-4 AVC codec. DVD's use MPEG-2 video. MakeMKV does not cove...

Re: Problems with Handbrake after MakeMKV

The video plays on the machine they were intended for a Blu-ray player ; ) Try the OSX version of XBMC and see if they play. As to Handbrake it doesn't really support Blu-rays all that well as an input format yet, the Windows x264 encoders like Ripbot264 are much better in this regard if you have ac...

Re: Harry Potter 2 - Chamber Secreets (Won't Load)

Something looks wrong there unless I'm mistaken it looks like the video is only 160MB in size & that is not right, whats the file size say in windows explorer ?

XBMC does play VC-1 in MKV, I have Batman Begins ripped this way and it does play.

Re: Help Request: Forced Subtitles in DVD

Yes you can do this, * Download MKVtoolnix and use MKVmerge. * Drag and drop the file generated from MakeMKV into it. * De-select any undesired subtitle tracks (untick the boxes). * Select the forced subtitle track. * Set both "forced track flag" and "default track flag" to yes C...

Re: Convert .ts files?

MakeMKV is a ripper not an encoder (it transfers the raw video of DVD or Blu-ray's into an MKV container).

Go use Handbrake it is an x264 encoder that can convert video.

Alternatively you can try to re-package the existing video of the .ts file into an MKV container using MKVmerge.

Re: Errors on HDDVD Rips

You can manually transfer a raw HD-DVD to MKV if you follow this guide, it's pretty straight forward. You get the same output as a file run through MakeMKV it just takes more work.

Try Ripbot264 as your x264 encoder instead of Handbrake and see if it can compress the raw Avatar MKV.

Re: Burn in Forced Subtitles

The MKV container supports forced tracks, though the problem is not all players support this feature. XBMC does so you can have subtitles globally disabled but the forced subtitles will still display, couldn't say for other players (MPC-HC doesn't). * Download MKVtoolnix and use MKVmerge * Drag and ...

Re: 3d blu-ray to mkv.. how?

This was posted on Doom9 The Monsters vs. Aliens disk has *.ssif files in the ssif folder (a subfolder of the stream folder). Does anybody know the format of these files? Maybe they cannot be played back because AnyDVD HD doesn't decrypt them yet? I've also noticed that the total size of the disk is...

Gave it a try holding shift and it made no difference still crashed MakeMKV.

Also the MakeMKV message "Fatal error occurred, programm will now exit" has a miss spelling
