Re: Suzume (2022) Bonus Disc Debug Code
Not necessarily true.I've had discs that gave me debug codes that ultimately successfully ripped with no error message, but were broken/corrupted during playback. Were they DVDs or a blu-ray? As I understand it, MakeMKV uses the content hash table that's part of the blu-ray specification to verify ...

Re: MakeMKV Fails to Open Discs on BRAND NEW DVD Discs
MakeMKV's only purpose is to copy the bits from an optical disc into a file on your computer. If you choose to make a backup, which creates a .iso file in the case of a DVD, or make a .mkv file directly from the disc, the outcome is the same; a 1-to-1 copy of what's the on the disc. It is only after...

Maybe take a look at https://thediscdb.com, a site created by user lfoust for this very purpose. https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=137364#p137364

Re: SDFtool Flasher
Thanks for the reply, @MartyMcNuts. I've never used Terminal, and I know you listed the commands at the top of the post, but is it possible to share more detailed per-step instructions with exactly what I need to type for each step? For example, I'm not sure how to interpret step 4: "copy sdf....

Re: Strange corruption issue - MakeMKV's fault or bad HDD?
It seems a lot of these third party PCIe USB expansion cards could be cheaply made junk prone to failure and corruption as well. Not sure I want to risk 2 years of archiving to some $30 PCB made to a price. Maybe I just have to get used to the idea of scanning everything with ffmpeg. Maybe that is ...

Have you thought about a USB PCIe card?

Re: DOlby Vision only shows as HDR and many newbie questions
I haven't tried it myself, but a Ugoos AM6B+ with recent builds of CoreElec can supposedly do it all.

Re: The Emperor's New Groove Newer AACS protection
I have the USA Bluray of The Emperor's New Grove and Kronk's New Groove combo disc. I am trying to upload the folder for the key but I am getting " Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached." Perhaps you could copy & paste your MakeMKV log into a post. That blu-ray seems to b...

Re: Help with 4K BluRay Burner - ?????
I have a modern Pioneer drive I purchased from a seller here connected to my Mac via USB. It is an internal drive, a Pioneer BDR-S13UBK, that is in a Vantec enclosure.
I've never used the drive to burn a disc, although I'm sure it could.

Re: Dvd/Bluray ripping machine parts selection
Pioneer drives are the most highly regarded these days. Unfortunately a recent Pioneer firmware update disables MakeMKV's ability to rip UHDs on those drives. The sellers on this forum have access to Pioneer drives with older, working firmware and are your best bet to get a Pioneer. Personally, I ha...

Re: where is my registration key?
I purchased MakeMKV a while ago, two payment processors ago, so I don't have any first hand experience with the current setup. However, over in this thread people have posted saying they payed with PayPal and got the key within minutes in an email from PayPal. In this other thread , folks said they ...

Re: LG Optical Drive Firmware "Reset" method
I've never had a LG drive need that kind of reset. When one of my LG based drives flakes out, a full power off then power on is enough to cold boot and reset the drive so it works again.
It is always good to have one more thing to try when troubleshooting, however. Thanks for the tip.

I think that's telling you that the video stream is 93% of the total file size.
