Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri

It's happened before for some people. Not sure what causes it but as long as it's showing the right firmware and it's working you're good.

I've no issue with h.265 on my shield with plex. Just an FYI.

I'm like you on that so no worries. Happy to share when I can. Yea, Mike's goal with the MK firmware was to restore LibreDrive functionality. He wasn't targeting "friendly" but in the case of MK 3.10 it just worked out that way and everyone was happy. LOL If there's any other questions let us know. ...

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri

You appear to be a little confused still and that's ok. We'll clear this up. :) You are correct that ASUS "revisited" 3.02 for the BW-16D1HT and that the new version of it is not UHD friendly. 3.03 is not UHD friendly. 3.10 is not UHD friendly. I can picture you now going "BUT BUT you said MK 3.10 i...

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri

You have some misconceptions there. Sleep bug, yes, UHD Friendly drives will spin down after putting a disc in. Once that happens it'll make a very nasty noise trying to spin back up and won't be successful. Irritating. Yes to the firmware flasher. NO to the MK 3.10 not being UHD friendly on the ASU...

Re: Can't rip (or even read) "The Hunger Games: Catching fire"

I would also try to get the disc replaced just to be sure. I think that's absolutely the right thing to do FIRST. I don't really know the answer to your question, though. My personal belief is that I think it comes down to calibration. Other than the AACS 2.0 hardware support, the LG official drives...

Re: Can't rip (or even read) "The Hunger Games: Catching fire"

Yea, that's the drive. Amazon UK has it listed. It's an official UHD drive so it's definitely more money than most of the friendly drives. One thing you could try before buying a new drive, and I'll caveat this by saying I've NOT done this so I don't know if it'll help, is to cross flash the NS60 fi...

And if you flashed it with the wrong firmware using a Windows flasher, then the calibration and encryption data should be in tact.

Re: Can't rip (or even read) "The Hunger Games: Catching fire"

No one's going to say the disc is scratched, but, they are going to tell you to clean the disc. I don't care how pristine "it looks" or if it came out of the package brand new and into the drive, it still needs to be cleaned. Barring that, the ASUS drive does not like certain discs. You can try to ...

Re: How to Train Your Dragon - The Hidden World

The post just before this one is another ASUS drive reading disc problem. It's starting to become more problematic. I'm running MK 3.10 and (before my machine crashed a horrible death last night) I've been having ripping problems of my own. I put the disc in my NS60 and it reads it just fine. I don'...

Re: How to Train Your Dragon - The Hidden World

Clean it with a microfiber cloth. Yes, I know, right out of the box and into the drive, no visible dust, blah blah blah. LOL We've had a bunch of these threads. The ASUS drive is very sensitive and a LOT of these discs ship with some kind of invisible film on them. Just try it. If it doesn't work, t...
