Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I have a 2018 C8, so, no, I've not tried playing any HDR content on a 2016 OLED. Nonetheless, my gut feeling on it is that by shoving HDR static metadata in a DV signal would produce a vastly brighter image than is intended. There's no DV video track to overlay on top of the main video track, as wel...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

The x700's "DV support" is the most annoying thing I've ever seen in a player. So much so that I replaced it with a UB820. There is no such thing as "converting HDR to DV". What it's doing is COMPLETELY wrong...it IS sending a DV signal but there's no DV data. It's simply activating DV on your TV wh...

Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives

No, it requires a supported version of the firmware. Mike is working on adding support for different firmware versions so it's possible to have supported hardware that's on a firmware that's not currently supported.

Re: "Ultra hax0r guide" Questions From the Community

I'm not too worried about it. Those that need it will likely find it. Ultimately you guys have made the DE versions of almost all the firmware available already and that's really what people need. I just made this to help you guys who are preparing the bin files to make it a little easier. Plus, you...

Re: "Ultra hax0r guide" Questions From the Community

Last update to the tool unless any bugs are found. I added one more function to it. Pass in a bin and it'll make it DE. ;) Have fun kids!

Re: "Ultra hax0r guide" Questions From the Community

Yea, it's very weird. I don't know what 7ZIP doesn't like about them. But I was able to open all of them with WInRAR. I did the NS40, NS50, and that one you just posted and all 3 worked fine. Plus I tested a couple versions of the ASUS flasher to extract bins and they all worked, as well. So the too...

Re: "Ultra hax0r guide" Questions From the Community

Yea, you're right. 7ZIP hates those zips. That's not great. You can extract it with WinRAR though. For the record, it's creating the exact same zip as following the manual directions would create so if 7ZIP doesn't like these, it won't like manually created zips either. Which is weird. I've never se...

Re: "Ultra hax0r guide" Questions From the Community

I put a new version up on my post. I don't know that it'll help, but, if it's any consolation I was able to extract a zip file and then open it with WinRAR and extract the bin from the flasher you posted. If it fails again, send me the zip it's creating please. Thanks for testing! If you just simply...

Thanks give me a few to take a look. I'll upload a new version of the tool once I figure out why it's not working right.

Re: "Ultra hax0r guide" Questions From the Community

@SamuriHL, Can I run this from Windows or do I still need Linux? I ran it from windows cmd and it created a zip file but I can't open the zip file. It's definitely windows. If it created a zip file that you can't open, I would like the file you tested it on please so I can improve the tool. Thanks!

Re: "Ultra hax0r guide" Questions From the Community

If you find any firmware exes that break it, just send me a link and I'll take a look. There's not a whole lot of error handling in this thing right now but the few files I tested worked well.

Re: "Ultra hax0r guide" Questions From the Community

I just updated the attachment with a new version. It will now also extract bin files from ASUS executable flashers. Just for fun. Enjoy!

Re: "Ultra hax0r guide" Questions From the Community

No problem. Hope it helps. If you do run into any issues, let me know and I'll fix it. It's pretty simple logic. Read in the file, byte swap it in memory, find the start of the zip, and write it out to a new file.

Re: "Ultra hax0r guide" Questions From the Community

I wrote you a little utility that should help. I have only tested this on ONE LG firmware exe so I make no promises. LOL. It's a command line util so extract it and run it from the command line: Ok I added some more functionality to this tool. 1) Pass in an LG executable firmware, output a zip file ...
