A command that's used in a bash shell but quite frankly if you couldn't get it to work with imgburn you're not likely to have more success with dd

Re: How to rip an .iso file with MakeMKV
Enable LibreDrive by opening the disc to the title selection screen in MakeMKV. Use DD to create an ISO from the disc sudo dd if=/dev/cdrom of=/some/folder/iso_name_here.iso Obviously you'll have to replace the dev device with the dev device of your UHD drive and the folder path and ISO name but it'...

Re: Super Mario Bros (1993) UHD issues
There's a private_data.tar file that is created from the encrypted hashed keys that are downloaded from the server. But that file is updated by MakeMKV and contains other data than just the hashed keys that MakeMKV uses to decrypt titles. There's not just "one file" that gets downloaded an...

No. That's not how it works. It's not a file.

Re: USB drive for using DVDFab / AnyDVD with UHD disks.
Bu40n is the only drive to recommend for what you want to do. Clearly you want to run findvuk and as mentioned you need an LG or Asus drive for that. I use my bu40n for that process.

Re: The Abyss 4K
That's not a magic "work around". You simply got lucky that the disc was readable in that session. The fact that you didn't decrypt it made absolutely no difference whatsoever. Makemkv simply was able to read the whole disc.

Re: The Abyss 4K
I'm ripping my replacement direct out of the box and into my S13 Pio drive. I really hope it gets through this rip.
EDIT: Finally. I've now ripped it successfully.

Re: Dump submitted - Blood on Satan's Claw (UK release)
It only works with makemkv if the vuk is part of the entry. Simply saying "it's in the keydb" is highly misleading for many reasons, causing people to mess around with things trying to get it to work when it may not. The disc needs to match the disc id in the keydb and the entry has to con...

Re: The Abyss 4K
34% is where mine errored out in ImgBurn and AnyDVD trying to make a protected ISO. No amount of cleaning or different drives changed that.

Re: The Abyss 4K
What's to get? It's sold out everywhere and the number of us having to replace them isn't helping the stock. I'm still waiting for my replacement from Walmart and when I checked over the weekend they told me it will be at least a week before it even ships. So, yeah, is simply not available right now...

Re: The Abyss 4K
No. It's a problem with the discs and/or drives.
And I was afraid of my problem happening....my replacement hasn't been shipped because it's "backordered". FFS

Re: The volume key is unknown for this disc
Maybe your firewall simply ate the request and MakeMKV still thought it would at some point get a response and never logged it? Who knows. But good that you found it.

Re: The volume key is unknown for this disc
Yea so many people have DNS issues and/or ISP issues. I'm blessed to be on a fiber network that couldn't care less but I also use alternative DNS for my network. I've never had a problem downloading the hashed keys. But it's a real issue for many.
