Re: Slow Write Speeds

Is there a better way to set this up so rip times improve? Right now it's taking 4-5 hours per disk 4K BD disk. Am I understanding correctly, you're ripping directly to your NAS? I wouldn't go with that idea, in the case of UHD a lot of data is being transferred. I just ripped Saving Private Ryan U...

I’ve seen numerous ways to do this but with mixed results. I’m just looking for the easiest method that is most accurate in its results.
See this post where I just answered someone else asking the same. Few links in that post to to other methods too.

Re: multiple files with same size

Anyway to find out which files to go with... See this post . Edit: Just noticed you're the same poster who asked in that thread. Can only repeat that the methods I posted there haven't failed me yet. Edit: I'm just ripping a few borrowed UHD's (I'm sure we all do that)! I noticed that Wolf Of Wall ...

Re: New to MKV and Ripping

I currently have a Win 11 PC but it does not have any optical drive or any space for one, so I will need to purchase an external one. I have looked on the forum and found a UK seller who is a member of this forum asmcom who sells pre-flashed drives. Just wanted to reach out for any advice before I ...

Edit: I see you have already posted in that thread. Cross posting is usually a no no on forums and probably best kept in the same thread so other posters there get to see any answers.

Re: UHD rips stutter and artifacts on screen

All play on the computer with VLC, jellyfin in a web window. When I try to play them on my Hisense Android 4k TV (65H9G) or thru my Panasonic DP-UB820 I get severe stutter, and blocky artifacts on screen. I've also tried copying the mkv file to a USB 3.0 stick and have the same results. Suggestions...

Re: SDFtool Flasher

Don't flash that drive you will brick it Billy is correct. That drive is too old (should be late 2015+) and the wrong platform (MT1959 is required) therefore will NEVER be able to read UHD. Many thanks both, clearly a good job I hadn't tried flashing then - phew! Having recently built a decent PC i...

Newbie - Correct Firmware?

Hi folks, I'm familiar with BluRay ripping. As I can now lay my hands on a few UHD 4k discs I'd like to try and make my Bluray drive UHD friendly, thereby enabling disc ripping via MakeMKV. I've been wading through this thread and it's a mine of info, saw a few posts mentioning the 1.02 firmware but...
