I'm getting the same thing on linux with a WH16NS60. Some DVDs rip perfectly, others for some reason fail to open. This is using the GUI version, instead of makemkvcon. I'm trying to rip the LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring extended edition DVD. I've made sure the disk is clean, and I've ripped it in the past without issue.
