I was wondering whether portable Pioneer drives are basically the same in every region they are sold... I noticed that the lettering is often changed, i.e. the BDR-XS07BUHD becomes the BDR-XS07UHD or BDR-XS07TUHD and the corresponding firmware is named differently in Japan vs. the US/Europe as well....

My current Pioneer BDR-XS07TUHD came with FW 1.01 and worked great with LibreDrive on my Mac. Unfortunately, it 'experienced' water damage (don't ask... :( ) and needed replacing... Hi Asmcom, the drive was manufactured in February of this year, and yes, I just sort of carefully tap the discs and they get pulled in no problem. I had a closer look last night though, and it seems the scratches only happen with DVDs and not with Blu-rays... I guess they are just so much more delic...
