Re: How to rip Blu Ray into 720p instead of 1080p?
your problem is resolution != to quality. bit rate has most to do with quality. so those rips have really low bit rates and don't look as good (they look like garbage imo). at any rate, judging from your questions, makemkv is not for you. you want a ripper that re-encodes. here are articles about th...

I think the smallest I've seen is 13 gigs, but they seem to average about 25 gigs (somewhere between 20-30).
and that's main movie only, not counting any extras.

Re: How to rip Blu Ray into 720p instead of 1080p?
the beauty of makemkv (for me) is that it simply rips directly from the disc with no conversion whatsoever. I tried several rippers before that insisted on changing the format when ripping, which took hours.
so if the disc is 1920x1080, the rip will be the same.

possible to play incomplete rip?
I had another damaged bluray disc that I was able to rip a fair amount of before it failed (17.8 gigs out of 20 something). Neither zoomplayer nor MPC-HC will play it, calling it incomplete/corrupt. Is there any tool that will fix the mkv file so that what is there can be played? thanks.

Re: 3D Backups?
here is some info:
http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3462
also, I usually put in something like "3d bluray makemkv" in google. you can also go to advanced search under google and specify makemkv.com (or anything else) as the only site you want to search. comes in handy.

Re: 1.6.11 intermediate release
perhaps I am doing something wrong. if I need to look up the versions of my files, let me know (how). I had seek and buffer issues with .10. I went back to .08 when I found the thread about it. I saw some info about changing some lib files, but didn't read them. .08 worked fine. today I saw the thre...

Samsung SH-B123L (firmware SB04) internal SATA. It's rated 12x read and I max out at 6.1x from what I've seen. I'd say it averages around 5-5.5x.

Re: Why isn't Lossless audio track enabled by default?
it would be nice to have a default option (similar to the language selection which checks the proper subtitle files by default instead of all of them) but I can tell you I was also annoyed when I ripped lossless to try it out and found my equipment doesn't support it. My guess is the vast majority o...
