Re: 4K Disc playback better than MKV

Is the movie in question a "Dolby Vision" disk?

If so, you'll want to read through the rather long and convoluted topic Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Re: Are AV synchronization issues a problem?

Actually, I've been in a lull from ripping since 1.14.7 came out; I got caught up on the backlog before Thanksgiving, and the December shipments from rightstufanime.com aren't due until just before Christmas... For the most part, the AV sync messages haven't been a factor for me, but some people are...

Re: Error report

The evaluation period is only reset when you enter a "new" beta key, or put in a purchased permanent key. "New" is in quotes because it can be the same beta key as is in the program already, it's the action of doing it that resets the 30-day counter. Both the beta key and permanent key are inserted ...

Re: MakeMKV v1.14.7 Isn't ripping DVD

I am having the same issue, except I can't even get the DVDs in my drive to register with the program.
Are you referring to getting a "NO DISK" message after the operating system tries to load the disk? That is an entirely separate issue.

Re: Am I understanding this correctly??

Playlist obfuscation isn't quite the same as having multiple cuts of a movie on a disk. Example: Disney (and related companies) will have 2 or 3 versions of a title on a disk. They differ only in the parts of the film where the language on signs and such would be different, and 00800.mpls will almos...

Re: Am I understanding this correctly??

Playlist obfuscation is separate from LibreDrive - it's just flooding the disk with fake playlists, which still exists. What it gets past is when a version of AACS encryption locks out your drive from being used, because LD makes the drive just respond to commands, rather than interpreting whether o...

Others have ripped it, so some description of what errors you're seeing would help.

Dekka, "No Disk" means the drive couldn't detect a supported format.

Now you're making it sound like a typical Win10 update... "Improve security" by breaking everything. :)

The language displayed in the title and credits, and possibly other shots that involve text. For American releases, they would be English, Spanish, and French.

Re: No streaming icon on MakeMKV

You must have been using a rather old version if you're just noticing that. The streaming button was removed in 1.4.0, and there is a DLL named libmmbd provided for VLC or Kodi to use instead.

Re: star wars the last jedi UHD failure

Start by updating to 1.4.7 (current version). That probably won't help, because the error looks to be a section of the disk that the drive cannot read, and it tries VERY HARD to do so... So hard that the operating system thinks it has gone off-line.

Start with the information listed in the FAQ link in my signature, and send it to support@makemkv.com . You should also include the crash report from the operating system.

Mike should get back to you with any additional information he needs.

Re: Goodfellas 25th Anniversary - Which playlist?

Based SOLELY on the "feature list" for the film, one just has the commentary tracks included.

Do the segment maps line up between them?

Re: Makemkv suddently does not recognize Blu Rays anymore

By "watch BDs", are you referring to using MakeMKV to allow player software to read BDs "on the fly", without ripping them first?
