Re: Midway 2019 4K (new BD-J protection?)

Made an un-decrypted disc copy. MakeMKV indicated 762 was the FPL_MainFeature. I ripped 504 & 762 from the encrypted disc copy. I watched 504 next to the physical disc playing on an Xbox One X. It matched, chapter beginning to chapter beginning on each player. Watching 762, it's obviously wrong. Seg...

Re: Looking for a portable, bus powered, UHD friendly drive

Ps. I'm fine with managing any firmware changes required. I've managed it on some desktop drives...

Thanks,

Re: Looking for a portable, bus powered, UHD friendly drive

Thanks - I'm only concerned with UHD/MakeMKV compatibility.

Make/model numbers, please?

Thanks,
Frank

I found this post:

Yes - my rip was successful of the US version. I updated my post - maybe after you saw it.

Good price on 4K UHD titles

Hopefully it is Ok to post this here. If there's a more appropriate forum, please move it, or let me now. For those looking to build their 4K collection, Amazon has a deal on several 4K UHD titles. You purchase 3 x titles from the list, and they discount the three to $49.99 at checkout, thru Februar...

Random issues ripping 4K on macOS - drive keeps seeking

Hello, I'm having random failures - time outs. I know the typical answer, "It's a hardware problem.". Please be patient and read what I've tried: LG drive in USB 3 case (self powered) - works for years for normal DVDs & BluRays. When I learned I could rip my 4K discs, I started and was semi successf...

What directory? On macOS, did you confirm the MakeMKV data directory:
Open MakeMKV -> MakeMKV Menu -> Preferences -> General -> MakeMKV data directory. THAT is where you must place the hash list file.

Re: UHD support

Is there also a work around with the Hashed Keys for the makeMKV mac version? No "work around" needed. Put them in the proper directory & they just work. Make sure you are running the latest version of MakeMKV (v1.10.9), released 20180108. Open MakeMKV & go to Preferences. Go to the General tab and...

Re: UHD support

Where do I find the "service code". Using the key_hash file, I tried a US 4K UHD Deadpool rip, and it seems to be working... I'll update when it's finished. Thanks, Frank It will be on the white label attached to the top of the drive. The NSXX will be in the lower right just below the barcode. Than...

Re: UHD support

I have a couple WH16NS40 drives. Is the "SVC 50" significant? What does it stand for & how do I check mine? (firmware? drive version?) If it doesn't say NS50 for the service code, the drive won't read BDXL data, so it can't handle UHD disks. Where do I find the "service code". Using the key_hash fi...

Re: Unable to Use keys_hashed.txt File. What Am I Doing Wron

I use a Mac. I just downloaded the file (Last edit: 16.01.2018) and am successfully ripping the US version of 4K UHD Deadpool. I have 5 x other discs to rip when this finishes. So far, so good. BTW - I'm using an LG WH16NS40 v1.02 drive. It seems to be working... I'll reply when finished. UPDATE - t...

Re: UHD support

Well crap - mine is NS40. Does that mean mine's older, or just pot luck as to what version I received? If I buy new, new stock, is it guaranteed to be NS50?

Thanks,
Frank
