Re: output wont play properly.

I have AnyDVD HD on another computer. Once I found out about MakeMKV for Linux, I gave up on AnyDVD.

I will give StaxRip a shot. But if there are any tools for Linux, that would be most helpful, as my Windows PC is very old and very slow.

Thanks

output wont play properly.

I recently bought Doctor Who Blu-Ray disks Season 5,6 and specials for 2005 series. Each season comes with 6 disks. I can create an MKV for each disk, which is either 15 GB per episodes (2 episodes per disk) or 36 GB. I am not sure which stream to choose here, so I choose them all and then play the...

Re: Blu-Ray rips not working

I have solution, but not sure if that will work for everyone. Since this happened on couple of discs, I went over the file sizes that MakeMKV determines for each clip. Out of the x number of items shown, x-1 or x-2 will have a different size and the chapter sequence (on the right aka 506, 596, 577,...

Re: Simple Questions

About the file names, it puts it into a folder named same as the Disk. That is really a non issue. You basically have to watch the title###.mkv file and manually name it accordingly. About title chapter variance: You might put the disk into a proper player and observe the number of chapters in the ...

Blu-Ray rips not working

I recently purchased a few blu-ray titles on sale and couple of them had an issues. 1. When it reads the disc, it takes too much time and the output list has just "title" in the selection than the track name. Almost all the "titles" found have the same length. Only when I trip t...

Re: How-2 Install MakeMKV for non-Debian Linux (openSuSE)

Good that you posted the steps. Though, some of those I never had to do aka config files or kde icons. I got it working on my Mandriva 2011 without a hitch, I just installed whatever they said in the forum for Ubuntu/debian translated in RPM world. Once done, I just used KDE-Menu-Edit to add an ent...

Simple Questions

1. When I open a Blu-Ray, how do I save the title with the name I choose? It keeps saving as either "title002.mkv" or <name-of-movie_t00.mkv> or something like that. 2. With some movies, I get couple of titles with the same size but different number of chapter. How do I know which one to ...

compile fail on Mandriva 2011

Here is what I get with Mandriva 2011. The binary make and install works fine. The OSS make fails thus: make -f makefile.linux which: no moc-qt4 in (/sbin:/usr/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin) mkdir -p out gcc -Os -D_GNU_SOURCE -D_linux_ -D_REENTRANT -shared -Wl,-z,d...
