Re: Video Tracking hits throughout BD rips

My TV is connected to my FireTV (running Kodi) via HDMI 2.0 cable and the FireTV is connected to my wired gigabit ethernet network so I don't think connection speed is the issue.

Re: MakeMKV v1.10.7 linux(x64-release) crash with openJDK 1.

There are some differences between OpenJDK and Oracle JDK that have caused me headache in the past (not with MakeMKV). Is there anything preventing you from installing Oracle JDK/JRE as well and running MakeMKV with that runtime instead? You don't have to replace OpenJDK, just make sure that MakeMKV...

Re: Video Tracking hits throughout BD rips

That thought occurred to me as well. I'm using Kodi to play it back onto my HDTV via HDMI and this has never been a problem in the past (though as we all know that's no guaranteed that it won't be a problem in the future). I supposed the best test is to find a video that doesn't play well on Kodi an...

Re: Video Tracking hits throughout BD rips

It most frequently happens during scenes of high action. It's almost as if it reduced the quality to maintain frame rate. I'd expect something like that during transcoding but not during a perfect rip.

Re: Video Tracking hits throughout BD rips

I have not seen that bad of a problem, but I have noticed that on several more recent rips the video does significantly drop in quality at one or more points during the playback (looks blocky momentarily). This artifact does not occur on the original disc and in the past my rips have been as flawles...

Re: John Wick Chapter 2

Java support will need to be tweaked. As you can see it begins to run but does not slice and dice its way through all of the fakes to display the correct title (FPL_MainFeature). I'll forward the necessary files to Mike. Does the Java implementation matter? I notice in your screenshot you are using...

Re: Apparent libavcodec version detection bug

I got this exact same problem today. Downloaded and built ffmpeg 3.3, installed, and when I went to build makemkv-oss-1.10.5 it failed to configure claiming libavcodec was too old. brion@lightyear:~/Downloads/makemkv/ffmpeg-3.3$ ./configure --prefix=/tmp/ffmpeg --enable-static --disable-shared --ena...

Re: If you're experiencing rip errors, please read here firs

Does 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:UNABLE TO RECOVER TABLE-OF-CONTENTS' fall into your list of errors above or is this something else?

A symptom is the drive will spin for a while before failing to read the disc at all (and will display 'no disc') in the icon.

Re: X-Men: Days of Future Past

The first time I put my BD in I got the error about the missing FUTs. After reading this thread I restarted MakeMKV (it had been running for a few days) and it loaded the disc without error. I have not yet tried ripping it so I'll report back that success or failure later. Not quite sure which title...

Re: Hunger Games Catching Fire BD - Which Playlist

For what it's worth, I have the Best Buy retail version (Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital HD UV) and MakeMKV (in linux) is telling me that 861.mpls is the primary title. I will rip this and check it out later. If it turns out incorrect, then perhaps I'll take the time to go through the full segment mapping a...

Re: Linux GUI - 3 Bugs on Ubuntu 11.10

I guess I'm a little bit curious as to why MakeMKV is locking the drive in the first place. Can't it be notified when someone presses the eject button and cancel its current operation? Failing that, if it can no longer read from the device, can't it assume the disc has been ejected and either prompt...

Re: Linux GUI - 3 Bugs on Ubuntu 11.10

I've found the hardware button has never worked to eject the disc while MakeMKV is in control of the drive(s). This was especially a problem in the previous version when MakeMKV needed to be killed to avoid it running amok after a crash but in doing so the drive remained "locked" until I re-launched...

I have not had it crash on me yet. If it does crash, I'll give you the log and do my best to describe the conditions under which it crashed. Thanks!

I've built 1.7.2 but haven't tried it yet. Will do so this weekend and let you know.
