Re: Better Call Saul - No forced subtitles
... that is the problem. None of the subtitle tracks seem to be the forced one, at least as far as the MKV file is concerned. When I play the DVD's through an Xbox or DVD player, the forced subtitles work as designed. When playing the MKV file through VLC or Plex, it's ...

Re: Ripping a DVD with forced subtitles
@Woodstock How can you tell if a film contains forced subs or not? If I extract all tracks and watch thru VLC for example looking for them, I would need to know in advance the film actually uses forced subs to queue up that scene and check for them. ...

Re: Ripping a DVD with forced subtitles
Actually, MakeMKV finds subtitles... it just doesn't know which ones are "forced" or not. DVDs are as bad as BDs, in that the first subtitle track is not necessarily the "forced" ...

Re: Ripping a DVD with forced subtitles
Since MakeMKV can't recognize forced items inside DVD tracks you'd have to extract the track that you suspect of containing them and then use BDSUP2SUB to extract those items into a separate track to be manually muxed into the mkv with MKVToolnix.

Re: Ripping a DVD with forced subtitles

Re: Death Note Compleat set (2014 North Amarican release)
