Re: 3D MVC Option

That's an interesting question. I hadn't tried PDVD14 yet, and clearly it's not going to work without the right header, but, does mkvmerge allow you to set header options for 3D? Yes it does. Though the exact value to identify it as I'm not sure though I posted the supposed values above. I did try ...

Re: 3D MVC Option

I found this response post asking about MVC MKV and it seems (loosely translated) that both PowerDVD13 and 14 CAN play MVC MKV but the problem lies in the header being created by the ripping software (MakeMKV). This is a list of values for the Video Stereo Mode section of the header. 0: mono 1: side...

Re: 3D MVC Option

That is interesting news. I will have to look into it. But you are correct, to this point we know the Stereoscopic is the only player that will properly display MVC MKV files. But it's a TERRIBLE player and VASTLY overpriced. Patience.

Re: 3D MVC Option

$90 can buy software that can do all kinds of crazy and amazingly simple things. Stereoscopic can't even handle the most BASIC of player controls. Yes it would be a decent option IF it was a quality player. It's little better than using MS Paint to edit photos and it costs similar to software like T...

Re: 3D MVC Option

I still don't understand why everyone in here doesn't just buy a mede8er player and be done with it. Mine plays AVC/MVC 3D mkv files ripped with MakeMKV with no issues on my Samsung 3D tv. I'd never mess with trying to get blu-ray software on a pc to play these 3D mkvs properly. Way too much to con...

Re: 3D MVC Option

I'm sorry but I do not know of such a test video on a disc or in MVC MKV format anywhere. I just meant that would be the definitive way to test if these programs are displaying true 3D from a MVC MKV file or if the software is faking the 3D effect.

Re: 3D MVC Option

Then what did you say? Gravity can't be used to test TMT6 because it is 'fake' 3D (post-3D conversion) where The Hobbit was shot in native 3D? Both are in 3D on the Blu-ray regardless of how they were filmed. That was your statement. I don't know of any 3D test video on a disc that could be ripped t...

Re: 3D MVC Option

Gravity on Blu-ray is not 'fake' 3D. Yes the film, or parts, may be a post-conversion to 3D but the MKV that would be ripped off the disc is not 'fake'. It has 2 separate images crammed into 1 file stream, the same as Avatar. Doesn't matter how the film was shot and produced, on the disc it's real 3...

Re: 3D MVC Option

TMT6? Which version? Any confirmation on the TMT boards or from their support? I'd say the best way to test is with some sort of test MKV where each eye has a completely different image. Left eye shows a house while right eye shows a boat. If you have a '3D' house it's fake. If you have a house-boat...

Re: 3D MVC Option

I'm not sure if this is due to a Nvidia driver update, or because of updating to Stereoscopic Player 2.1.4 (I suspect the former, but I don't want to risk breaking anything), but playback now works for me. Does this new version have any better set-up or player controls or is it still pretty rinky-d...

Re: Catching Fire

I ripped this stream. Problem is, it doesn't appear that any of the streams have the dts-HD audio track. Anyone know why? Just checked my MKV file and backup "disc playlist analysis" copy (which I have yet to delete). Both contain DTS and AC3 streams from commercial disc. Are you ripping a rental o...
