Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Goddamn this is AWESOME! Made an unprotected ISO of Joker (you'll see why in a sec). Created the MKV with MakeMKV. Opened TSMuxer and dropped the MKV onto it. Opened the mounted ISO's 800.mpls and added the audio track. Spit out a TS file, dropped it on my NAS. Plex picked it up and is now playing ...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
I assume this is the new Shield right? I have the 2017 version, which I think doesn't support DV? And you have to have the Pro version? It didn't seem like it was worth upgrading, but I guess it is now? Does Kodi play it? Yea, I'm in the same boat with the earlier Shield version so I'll have to gra...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Wow, I literally just ripped Joker yesterday with 1.15! Guess I'll go back and do it again! Now to figure out how to play these...need to get a FAQ going to not wade through the other giant thread! Good idea. The original thread had numerous posts of people using the wrong tool, tool version or pro...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Holy smokes. Dolby Vision support and Atmos fix in the same release. What an incredible job!
Looking forward to testing this soon.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
FYI, the request for support of Dolby Vision in MKVToolNix has been accepted by Moritz Bunkus: https://gitlab.com/mbunkus/mkvtoolnix/-/issues/2784 Can you explain a bit more what this means, jcdr428. For example, if I use MKVTOOLNIX today I can select the UHD playlist with the Dolby Vision track an...

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
Disney loves to seamless branch their titles and use high bitrate ATMOS tracks (god bless them) which tends to contribute to this issue. And here's the thing, even if you don't see the symptoms of this issue on other titles, it's technically there. It has to do with how ATMOS frames are put into an...

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
Phew, I just noticed this issue on my Zootopia and Frozen II copies and was trying to figure out if it was a software issue (MakeMKV or MKVTOOLNX) or hardware issue (Denon receiver, Shield Streamer etc). I wish I had noticed it earlier as I'm now wondering how many titles are affected. A couple of q...

Re: The Crying Game
It's a bit late for this, but I believe it's playlist 00080.pls. Please note, when I opened this playlist in MakeMKV it incorrectly identified the track length as 1:44:24. Opening the same playlist in MKVToolnix identified the correct length of 1:52:37. The difference was MakeMKV didn't include the ...

Syncing Audio
I primarily use MakeMKV to remux my Blu-rays and occasionally use MKVtoolnix when I need to combine audio/subtitle tracks from different MKV's of the same movie (e.g. local and international Blu-ray, UHD and Blu-ray). However, there are often differences in the exact lengths of these releases that m...

Re: UHD drives
MartyMcNuts/SamuriHL, thank you for that info as it really helps. I'm basically trying to decide do I pay a bit of a premium for the "official" WH16NS60 or save a bit of money and make a choice between the "friendly" WH16NS40 or BW16D1HT. The other consideration is I just read ab...

Re: UHD drives
Hi SamuriHL, Are you saying the LG WH16NS60 is faster than the WH16NS40 & BW-16D1HT? I'm trying to find out if there is substantial differences in ripping speeds with Blu-rays/UHD's between these three drives. As well, I'd like to know if any of them are quieter than the others or if they pretty...

Re: Change Default Naming of Tracks
Just found this thread and would love to see this feature. Currently, I have to manually change the name for every audio track as I prefer to show the codec and channel layout. For example, here is an example of the info that Makemkv shows for an audio track. Track information Type: Audio Name: Surr...

Re: UHD drives
I've just been reading this thread, and others in the forum, and have narrowed down my choices to the following three drives: -LG WH16NS40 (friendly) -ASUS BW-16D1HT (friendly) -LG WH16NS60 (official) With the correct firmware, all three are able to rip Blu-rays/UHD's. However, is there any substant...
