Re: 3D and/or 2D Versions

There is a lot of painting done to achieve the 3D, so you are not really seeing the original movie. You are seeing either the left or the right eye of the 3D version, with things shifted around in the frame. You're not seeing the original composition and framing of the film. There can be aspect rati...

Re: Registration key not being accepted

Are you using the free beta key, or your own registered key?

Re: Current Makemkv beta registration key rejected by 1.12.0

This happens at the end of the month whenever a key expires before the new key is issued.

You can try setting your system date back a few days.

You can just take a few days break and wait for the new key.

You can register and get your own lifetime key: http://www.makemkv.com/buy

Re: Commentary tracks on Looney Tunes DVD not visible on Mak

First steps would be to look for separate playlists on the disc. Check if MakeMKV is skipping any playlist as a duplicate.

Re: Audio and Subtitles tracks: what do they mean?

There can also be extra audio tracks such as audio commentaries or music-only tracks. You should look at the case of the Blu-ray to learn about what audio is included on your disc, this can help you figure out which tracks you might want to select in MakeMKV when you are ripping the disc. There will...

Re: How To Rip a 3d bluray?

DVDFab (and other software I assume) can rip a 3D Bluray into SBS 3840x1080. MakeMKV doesn't, but others do. Right. So in that case, it's offering the option of rendering the video into that format since SBS is a popular playback method, which is not the native stream. I'm still stuck. I ripped the...

Re: How To Rip a 3d bluray?

Video is not stored on the Blu-ray disc in side by side format. It is not stored as 3840x1080. So those guides are talking about something else. Maybe they are talking about illegally distributed files.

Re: Thor Ragnarok 3D Mpls

Yes, 1920x1080 is the source. MakeMKV does not alter the stream itself, it just decrypts and packs the streams you select into the MKV file.

Re: How To Rip a 3d bluray?

Yes you are getting a true 1920x1080 file. But just remember it has been messed about with by the 3D painters for the conversion. If you're watching in 2D, you're better to get the 2D version. But of course that's up to you.

It can also be things in the movie itself such as signs.

Ferdinand is Fox and, well, Fox is now Disney!

KEYDB.cfg method is old now.

Suggest to start with the FAQ from the UHD discs forum, and then feel free to post in this thread again with any further questions!

Re: Blue Planet II

In that case you'll probably want to replace your set (super easy if you buy from Amazon) in order to get a good disc 1. If you are using the latest MakeMKV and the latest hashed keys file, and the hashed keys file is correctly placed in your MakeMKV data directory, then you should submit the AACS d...

Could be an issue with your drive?

Do they play in a normal Blu-ray player?
