Re: Error in DVD drive, BR drive works fine with same DVD
I'm having the same issue on a disc I just purchased yesterday from the $4 bin at Wal-Mart. It's a double-feature disc with "Daddy Day Care" and "Daddy Day Camp". When I first insert the disc, I get the Error: 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:READ OF SCRAMBLED SECTOR WITHOUT AUTHENTICATION' occurred wh...

Re: What is the best internal blu-ray reader for ripping?
Pioneer BDXL. I originally bought a Sony BD burner, but I found that it would overheat after one or two BD disks. The Pioneer doesn't overheat and I can rip large collections all day. Which model Pioneer do you use? I've read a couple of reviews that mentioned rip-lock on some current models. I've ...

What's everyone's favorite DVD and Blu-ray drives here?
I need to buy some new ones for a new build and thought I would see what all of you have had good luck with. The two current drives I use are an (Blu-ray) LG WH14NS40 (rev.2 I think...) and a (DVD) HP 575781-800 (aka GH80N - A2HH). The Blu-ray drive is just OK all around. It does a much better job w...

Re: Keeping Up With the Joneses
Is this something that will take a few days to sort out or just a few minutes?

Re: Keeping Up With the Joneses
No.... I figured you would want the log file but I no instructions popped up. Only the error message. I will send it now.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Keeping Up With the Joneses
Looks like it has Street Lock. When opening I get the error "BD+ code processed but no FUT's were obtained, errors may follow"
Sure enough, the rip is junk. However is plays fine on my 6+ year old Sony player.

Re: Trouble with Finding Nemo
How do I know which mlps to rip? I've ripped them all and each one has a different file size... I haven't watched each file from beginning to end but they all ripped with no errors.

Re: Downton Abby Season 4 DVD
Figured it out! Worked like a charm! I'm glad I own a Sony Blu-Ray player that tells you all that (what I thought) useless information!

Re: Downton Abbey: Season 4
For those having problems with Season 4, put your disk in a player and write down the Title and Ch numbers for each part from your player. Open makemkv using manual mode. To access this feature you will need to set the expert flag in preferences. The disk will spin up and a menu will appear asking ...

Re: Downton Abbey Season 6
I haven't got to season 6 yet... I stuck on Season 2. I also tried Season 4 and it's looking like every season except Season 1 is going to use this protection scheme. In an older thread regarding Season 4 someone suggested using manual mode? I'm not sure how to do that.

I've tried three different copies of the DVD in 5 different drives. All stop at exactly the same sector. See attached. Move plays fine with Windows Media Center in the same drive. Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading '/VIDEO_TS/VTS_25_1.VOB' at offset '58...
