Re: Antebellum Blu-ray
theres not much expertise needed if one can run a version of the command I gave. makemkvcon -r info prints out a lot of info | grep ",26," -> selects the lines that contain segment maps | cut -f4- -d',' -> takes those lines and only includes the segment map portion | sort -> sorts all the segment ma...

Re: Antebellum Blu-ray
let me teach you a trick on a way to figure out proper playlist with a bit of detective work (at least in a linux env) makemkvcon -r info iso:/path/to/your/iso |grep ",26," | cut -f4- -d',' |sort you now have every playlist sorted by segments. now, you can play the first segment and skip to the end,...

Re: avantgate only offers to charge in "local" currency
1) considering I order from amazon all the time with my US credit and get it shipped overseas (or at least did before covid jacked up shipping prices), that's not true. 2) it would still be cheaper for me to pay $50 + 6% sales tax for state where my credit card billing address is than $60 in foreign...

avantgate only offers to charge in "local" currency
I can't select USD to purchase in, so I will get hit twice by currency conversion when I use my us credit card in a foreign country on high currency conversion to foreign currency (comes out to about $60 with vat/tax listed as 0, instead of $50) and then hit again as will be a foreign currency charg...

Re: makemkv parses supergirl deleted scenes incorrectly
they play fine. they are also playable with the episodic deleted scene playlist. and if I play the playlist directly in players that support it, I see all the deleted scenes

Re: makemkv parses supergirl deleted scenes incorrectly
so I used hdcookbook's playlist dumper and it was able to parse the file fine, this seems to be an issue with makemkv.
attaching the hdcookbook dump and the original file

Re: MakeMKV needs a better chapter editing UX
ah, didnt know about the arrow keys, but yes, down, ctrl-a, type is much easier. still think "enter" should act as down and ctrl-a together, but this is doable, to avoid mousing around

MakeMKV needs a better chapter editing UX
Currently, if I'm trying to edit the chapter names, there is a large amount of clicking around (have to select a new chapter with the mouse and then go back and select the text field. In reality, I think a simpler UX that would work for most people is if you hit enter while editing the name of the c...

makemkv parses supergirl deleted scenes incorrectly
I've noticed this on a bunch of CW comic book show blurays, but it seems that makemkv doesn't always parse the deleted scenes correctly. i.e. if I string the playlist, I see $ strings 00201.mpls MPLS0200 `01208M2TS 1eng `01226M2TS 1eng `01268M2TS 1eng `01269M2TS 1eng but makemkv only shows Title inf...

Re: Dual video streams 2160/1080
It depends what type of Dolby vision the disc is mastered with. A Full Enhancement Layer FEL 1080p stream supposedly contains the differential video data between the encoded 10 bit stream and the original 12 bit master. If you play it it looks black and white. The Minimal Enhancement Layer MEL stre...

Re: Blurays with a single chapter don't let you name it
on linux. I can test others, it was just something I noticed, that for titles that said 1 Chapter, there was no Chapters element of the title tree in the UI for the discs I was dealing with (there were other titles that had nothing listed as Chapters, and that would make sense for those) this is on ...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.3
Yes... but I would love to see the way to create dvhe.05.06 BL+RPU (yousesope's tool mode2) to MKV... :) what you really want is a player that is able to remux on the fly it to that. i.e. plex would do a "transcode" (as its not a direct remux, but relatively close). i.e. the content should always b...

Blurays with a single chapter don't let you name it
So, when i open a bluray in MakeMKV it will show the titles and the number of chapters in them. i.e. 9, 1 or sometimes doesn't show any. for the ones where it doesn't show any, that makes sense that I can't name the title, but for titles with 1 chapter, I should be able to name the title. As a simpl...

Re: Official Dolby Vision MKV spec support
Testing the new Zidoo Z9X, Mel titles created with 1.5.2 trigger Dolby Vision, Fel titles created with 1.5.2 only trigger HDR. Have to say every mode I have tried with DV MKV files color is pushed same as shield when compared to Oppo- maybe DV in MKV from UHD BD just isn’t possible?? its probably n...
