Re: Blu-ray drive not recognised

Is this an remote drive?

"The folder F: appears to be a root folder on optical drive, however drive can't be accessed by program. The operation will most likely fail."

This msg says, that the drive is not working like an optical drive.

Re: forced subtitles

MakeMKV does not extract forced flagged VOBSUB subtitles to an separate forced track. This was requested many times but never implemented. My solution is to extract the VOBSUB subtitle track with mkvextract (MKVToolINX) and use the BDSup2Sub (Java Tool) which can save only the forced flagged subtitl...

Re: Linux - MKV-to-DVD-ISO (lossless)

Tested this years ago without success with the DVDLAB Authoring software. Extracted the Audio and Video streams from MKV and imported them into DVDLAB but during compilation to build the DVD structrues it failes due to errors in the video stream (I Frames and so on missing). So I think there is no w...

Re: Blu-ray drive not recognised

Is the drive detected as an optical drive? This is indicated with an other icon in the Explorer drive list.

Two SSD drives gives is the best improvement. CPU power or mainstrorage is not the problem.

Re: Query

If I understand you correctly, you want to split the ripped title on chapter boundary?
MakeMKV can't do this, but you can rip the title to mkv and use after this "MKVToolNIX GUI" to seperate the ripped title on chapter boundary. Go to "Output" and use under "Split Mode" the option "Before Chapters".

Re: I need hep with adjust/enhance Audio

- Extract the Audio track with mkvextract from MKVToolNIX or other tools
- Use the "Audacity" tool to "tune" the track
- Save the track (check for the correct format)
- Remux the new audio track with "MKVToolNIX GUI"into the existng old mkv file (deselect the old audio track from the old file)

Re: Bad audio on rips

The "Dynamic Range Compression" of the Blu-ry Player has nothing to do with this. Please check if you are playing HD Audio tracks, f.e DD+ or so. Specialy the higher resolution tracks of Dolby Digital can have some trouble with incompatible equipment. I have had the same problems and after an Firmwa...

Re: Searching (2018) subtitles broken in generated MKV

MakeMKV has detected the subs, but the entries are incomplete, at least the graphic images are not included, but I think also some other stuff. BDSup2Sub info for the first MakeMKV entry: #> 1 (00:00:40.624) PCS offset: 0x00000000, START, size: 0x0013, composition number: 0, forced: false, paletteId...

Re: ...from a file folder

Open-> File needs the "index.bdmv" (Blu-ray) or the IFO files (DVD) to get the needed Meta data to create the mkv file.

If you want to put normal video and audio files into an MKV container you can do this with "MKVToollNIX" and specify the Meta data in the settings.

Re: Searching (2018) subtitles broken in generated MKV

If I exctract the subs from the MKV and try to open them in f e SubtitleEdit, it says they are corrupt. The subtitles show in the original movie just fine and if I rip the subs with TsMuxer, they also work. Extracted with tool xxxxx ? mkvxtract from MkvToolNIX? SutitleEdit is a OCR conversion tool,...

Re: No reply from Support

If you use the created file on different players (iPhones, Mac with various software and the problem exists on all) it looks like that the created file is already corrupt. I don't think that the drive is the problem, because MakeMKV does a Hash check (Mike confirmed it). And this works, in case of r...

Re: Black frames on top and sides of 16:9 video

The black frames uses not much space in the file, because there is no action or difference between the frames. The codecs detects this and compress this to some few bytes. Anyway, DVDs are encoded in MPEG2 (like JPEG) whch produces a lot of artefacts surrounding objects. The other problem is that ol...
