Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri

Apologies for being a newbie but I expected to get a new drive. Fortunately, it still works so I have already arranged a refund and return. I will source a new one from elsewhere and try to check that it is firmware 3.01 or above before I do anything. I'll also make sure I read everything possible ...

Re: New BW-16D1HT, firmware, linux

Sadly this is what I get, used Rufus 3.3 and 3.7 to create the USB stick, and then boot from it. I wonder if it's the RTX2060 video card the console is connected to? Switched to internal Intel graphics, no difference. Sadly, nothing I have tried works. Why is there a console? You need to boot the P...

Excellent, thanks! I presume the ASUS firmware is on that image. Will give it a whirl.
Yep, I included most of the available firmware in the package.

Re: New BW-16D1HT, firmware, linux

So, I have this drive, it came with 3.03. I want to flash it, ideally to the 3.10 version that is UHD friendly. Problem is I have Linux only, no Windows in this house. So, it's hooked up via SATA internally. So, in looking at the modified ODD FW changer, it appears this is a Windows utility, so, I ...

Re: Is there a way to downgrade the firmware on a Buffalo BRUHD-PU3 from BU11 to BU10?

Have you come across a Buffalo BRUHD-PU3-BK with firmware BF11?? Interesting. I've never ever seen BFxx (or a single reference to it). Yeah, it was an Amazon.com listing. One of the answers to a question was that it has firmware BF11. Don't know if that was actually correct or a typo? Anyway, I dec...

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri

I have an LG BE16NU50 and LG BH16NS55 drives. Thanks to this guide I have succesfully flash a DE firmware and I can rip 4K and burn blank media. Is it possible to crossflash these drives to enable scanning of burned bluray? (Qpxtools or Opti Drive Control). Could this change possibly break the poss...

Re: WH16NS40 help

Actually the ASUS modified flasher should flash anything so that doesn't quite make sense. Other than it quite clearly didn't work on your machine, which is definitely strange. The point being it SHOULD have worked to flash your drive. Correct. There are a lot of folk that have used the modified AS...

Re: WH16NS40 help

@SickPup404, You don't have to flash the DE firmware to flash the MK firmware. You can flash either DE or MK firmware at any time. The MK firmwares are generally the latest versions of firmware that have been modified to allow downgrading and enable LibreDrive. The DE firmwares are what the communit...

Re: BC-12D2HT flashed to BW-16D1HT 3.10

Some added information. The read rate starts out high at over 17 M/s then is slows down and stops at Output size 4197.3 M. I removed the Windows 10 Movie & TV app thinking it may be hindering the process but to no avail. The disc drive was updated to version 11.0 before I started reading the forum....

@Verisurf,

How is the drive connected to your computer? If externally, it may not be getting enough power.

Also, have you tried backing up the entire disc to FOLDER?

Re: Test for those who are brave, BU40N-N 1.02

I have a BU40N with 1.02 firmware but I am unsure which flasher to use for it? The link to the modified flasher posted in the first post of this thread: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=70284#p70284 gives a 403 Forbidden error, are there other download links? Use the ASUS flasher from ...

Re: Firmware downgrade using official (patched) flasher, the "Ultra hax0r guide"

I am stuck with this. I have a brand new LG WH16NS40 with FW 1.04 installed. When I tried to downgrade the FW to 1.02 using the unlocker app it tells me Write DRAM NG 05/26/03. I checked the SVC on the drive as well and it shows NS50. So can someone give me hand? I tried my John Wick 2 4K UHD disc ...
