Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2019

Hi, need a little help. I got way ahead of myself and flashed my WH14NS40 - NS40 1.0 Circa 2013 to a WH14NS40/NS50 MK firmware. I have read the posts that it is not garbage, but in this post there is a mention of "NS40 Recovery Image" is that for the NS40 that really is a NS40 that was flashed to a...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2019

LG WH16NS40, UHD Friendly Internal 5.25 I made the mistake of flashing my Firmware to 1.03 a few years ago. I've found the "LG crossflash NS50_firmware_pack_with_patched_flasher" do I just flash it to 1.02? https://i.imgur.com/bwnWyGL.png I'm running Linux, and I can't seem to get it to run. But I ...

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri

For those who recently bought an LG BP50NB40, I did just that today and was able to downgrade. Mine had a manufacturing date of July 2019, firmware 1.02, and was purchased from Best Buy. Took some trial and effort but I got it to be recognized as a BP60NB10 by doing the following: Downloading the l...

Re: PIONEER BDR 211 EBK

I bought the same drive way back in August 2019 but was unable to install it until today (27 October 2019) because I was looking after some visitors. Now that I'm free, I replaced my BDR209 with the BDR211. I was not aware that there are recommended UHD drives to use with MakeMKV. I was very disapp...

Hi,
I'm trying to downgrade my Asus BC-12D2HT drive (currently running firmware 3.11) using the "ultra hax0r" method but I keep getting the Write DRAM NG 05/24/00" error.
Anybody know what I'm doing wrong or if there is another method I could use?
Thanks!
Did you get your drive flashed?

Re: Backup Copy of Movie Contains Unwanted Naration

I am playing the mkv files on my computer using VLC media player. Most of the time there is no problem. Every once in a while I get a blu-ray disk that produces a narrative audio when I used MakeMKV to make a backup to store on my hard drive. It has never happened on a DVD. Maybe 1 out of every 10 ...

Re: Backup Copy of Movie Contains Unwanted Naration

Woodstock & Marty: By “backup” I meant I used MakeMKV and my Blu-ray movie disk to make an MKV file. I put the disk in my drive and used MakeMKV to “open it”. The largest video file had three audio files associated with it: DTS-HDMA Surround Sound 5.1 English; nested under the DTS-HDMA Surround Sou...

Re: Help a newbie, UHD friendly drive, some questions

Well, my drive has arrived, also the Icy Box and everything is setup for flashing. I red a lot of threads on this board, but I´m still kind of unsure what (and how) to flash the drive. So I would like to ask a few more questions...please. I got the LG BH16NS55, built 2018, with firmware 1.03. Makem...

Re: HL-DT-ST BD-RE BH16NS40 supported?

My linux box says: "CD-ROM HL-DT-ST BD-RE BH16NS40 1.03 PQ" BH16NS40 and BH16NS40-NS50 are different models, I have read. So how can I find out if I have a BH16NS40-NS50? https://www.makemkv.com/download/mk-firmware-pack-20191013.zip contains a file for the NS40-NS50 only, but has an empty folder f...

So straight up, I accept it's my own mistake and I didn't do my homework properly and didn't read this forum properly. But as a newbie to UHD I am now even more confused so after trawling through this forum I thought I'd just ask. After doing some initial reading on LibreDrive and what drives etc. ...

@f.... @wellandman

I'd say that 1.01 is fairly new and has probably disabled downgrading.

There still is not a 1.01 version in the MK pack either. Maybe one of you guys can contact mike admin and see if he can possibly extract it from your drive.

Cheers

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2019

Hey guys. Thx a lot for your efforts on this. I want to backup my UHD blu rays and play it on my UHD TV. So i think an UHD friendly drive is the way to go. I have read the articles and now want to get an "Asus BW-16D1HT" (90DD0200-B28000) from amazon.de and flash it with 3.10MK "ASUS-BW-16D1HT-3.10...
