Same issue here. It fails to rip and throws SCSI and debug codes. Brand new disc right from the package.
Give your disc a good clean (even if it is brand spanking new and appears spotless!) then try again.

Re: LG BH16NS55 Firmware 1.04 (and possibly other new drives)

Gigabyte H370N-WiFi Did you fix your AHCI settings that you had messed with before trying again? Hmm, I've got a z370 so I wouldn't think there wpuld be much difference in our sata controllers I didn't touch the ahci again, do you have yours set to use or not use ahci? Never touched it so it is wha...

Re: LG BH16NS55 Firmware 1.04 (and possibly other new drives)

I have had heaps of these drives, mostly manufactured in April and never had a problem flashing them. I use the asus flasher with 3.10-MK then flash whatever firmware I want after that. This is all done on my win10 64bit machine. Any thoughts on what else to try? I feel like we've been pretty compr...

Re: LG BH16NS55 v1.04

https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=19634 Thank you, I have seen that post. To be clear, I do not have a 4K TV nor do I have any 4K software therefore so long as I can rip standard BDs, I don't need to modify or downgrade my firmware. I haven't seen any mention of version 1.04 of the...

Re: BU40N - Which firmware is best?

Stick with 1.00. It works really well! Just started using this external UHD drive - I can get through UHD discs just fine; however, I have noticed that there are spin down pauses at times during the process where the drive seems to go dormant, only to start back up seemingly at random. As noted, th...

Re: LG BH16NS55 Firmware 1.04 (and possibly other new drives)

Hey all, New here. Just bought an LG BH16NS55 with firmware 1.04 Was getting nowhere on my win10 machine (probably because it only has AHCI) I've hooked it up to a Win7 machine with AHCI disabled in bios, attempted to flash to asus 3.10 bios with both the asus odd and lg crossflash utilities and st...

Re: ASUS BW-16D1HT: 90DD01E0-B20000 or 90DD01E0-B20010?

Mine is a 90DD0200-B20000 Manufactured date January 2019 Any idea if this can be made into a friendly drive? Of course it can! If it came with 3.10, flash 3.10-MK on it. You can then leave it with 3.10-MK or flash to whatever other firmware you want. If it came with 3.03, flash whatever firmware yo...

Do we have a way of ripping 4K with the new features like HDR, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

After I rip a 4k Movie colors looks faded out.
What are you using to play it back and check the colors? If using your PC, is it HDR capable? Are you using a HDR capable player?

Re: BU40N 1.03 to MK 1.03 - Not sure where to go from here

Hi, total newb here. I've been reading lots of posts in this forum and I still can't figure out how to get LibreDrive enabled for my drive. I have the modified ASUS ODD FW Changer and I believe I am supposed to "sidegrade" to Asus 3.10MK before I can flash MK 1.03. As far as I can figure out, "Asus...

Re: Firmware downgrade using official (patched) flasher, the "Ultra hax0r guide"

Hello, I'm having trouble with the LG BH16NS55. I start the application and choose my bin file, but after clicking start, it gives me and error. The drive is still in working order after. Any help is appreciated. Please provide some details. Simply saying that is of no help at all. Let's start with...
