Re: UHD drives

Alex, you do know that either flasher can flash both LG and ASUS drives (plus other branded clones), don't you? I do yes, but I still like to "brand match" whenever possible. Sure wish we had a flasher for the BP50NB40.... @jonghotti, @Billycar11, @SamuriHL, Just out of curiosity, if I was somehow ...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT 3.10 Firmware

I've watched the UHD Friendly Guide to flashing a Blu-Ray drive but before I do it I just want to check I've got this correct as my version is different to the videos. So the version of my ASUS BW-16D1HT is 3.10-01 So do I use the bin file included in the "Downgrade Enabled Firmware V.2" which is 3...

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri

Hi everyone,

I have attached firmware LG BH16NS55_1.04_MK to my original post. This can be used to downgrade a drive on the latest firmware, such as BH16NS55_1.04, WH16NS60_1.02 etc.

Cheers!

Re: Firmware downgrade using official (patched) flasher, the "Ultra hax0r guide"

First, this board is full of amazing information! Now to my issue: Have tried to follow BillyCar's instructions for flashing the WH16NS60 1.02 to the supplied 1.00.bin but to no avail. Getting the following: Write DRAM NG 05/26/03 Any else run into this? I haven't seen a NS60 with 1.02 as yet but u...

Any progress to share on this one by chance? Also, does the Bluray that's included with the 4K package also include the same Atmos track found on the 4K disc, or is it the same as the Bluray-only release?
The Blu Ray disc only has DTS-HDMA 5.1. I think this is very low on Mike's priority list.

Re: New Hashkeys ?

Hi, So far, I have added the hash keys manually. How do you have to set this under the preferences that he always makes automatic updates of Hashkeys? You do not need to manually download keys anymore. Go to Preferences and in the General tab make sure to check the box for "Allow contacting web ser...

Re: External Enclosure UK

Hi, Just ordered a Asus BW-16D1HT and looking for an external enclosure. Live in the UK and for some reason unless I'm being daft can't find a decent choice? Re: UHD USB drives (or laptop slimline?)

Hi again- Sorry, I was on holidays and just got this reply (thanks to MartyMc). I ordered the Archgon external so I could pass it between my MBP and MB Air as needed. Do I need to deal with firmware upgrade or downgrade on this unit? If so, is there a MACOS option for that or do I need to hijack my...

Re: LG BH16NS55 v1.04

FYI: Just ran some speed tests. Started UHD folder backup and let it run for 10 minutes. 1. BH16NS55 1.02 - Read Rate = 13.2 M/s [3.1x] 2. BH16NS55 1.04-MK - Read Rate = 13.7 M/s [3.2x] Speed difference is negligible. I don't use AnyDVD so unable to check if 1.04-MK is UHD friendly with it. (If ASUS...

If you want to use anything else (besides MakeMKV! Anydvd, or perhaps something else?) the ASUS would be the one to go for. For MakeMKV exclusively, the NS60 is the best!
Thank you. Who makes the NS60?
LG WH16NS60, which is an official UHD drive (thus a bit more expensive!)

Re: UHD drives

I decided to buy a second hand ASUS BW-16D1HT. Got it down to 10$ so worth the risk. This is just a temporary drive and I will be buying a uhd drive from one of the sellers here on the forum when I get home from vacation. So the drive is to old to support UHD, but can it still be used to rip 1080p ...

Looking to buy a new BR drive. Is ASUS BW-16 still the best option or is there currently a better option? Depends on what software you plan on using. lol MakeMKV of course.
