Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Well at the moment I only have access to HDR10 via my Samsung. My next TV will have access to HDR10, HDR10+ and most like Dolby Vision and maybe HLG as well. But if I had to choose between Lossless Audio and DV over HDR10 + Lossless Audio then DV would lose out every time. Granted I have avoided be...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Hey, Sorry I am a noob to all this but I can seem to get this to even start to work.. I must be missing something. When I try to run mp4muxer it opens a command prompt window for a split second, then nothing. The same thing happens when I try using command prompt to open it, it does the same thing....

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Big news for LG 2016 oled owners!! Someone told me that DV MP4 remux work with sony x700 Ultra HD Blu-Ray Player Test it, it should work and let us know! Why 2016 LG? Wouldn't that be any DV capable TV that doesn't play them directly? Besides that though, a blu-ray player being able to play them ki...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

So from what I can gather it's ripping the DV portion to the MKV format but players can't play it, does that mean a backup I make now could work in the future if software players (plex) get DV support? I was under the impression MakeMKV took everything on the disc and shoved it into an MKV containe...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Interesting. I wonder what they changed between 2016 and 2017 (pretty sure the 2017 models don't have an issue playing these back).

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

So I did try the process to convert to a MP4 container. I was able to make the file successfully, and upon playing it on my TV I could playback the clip, with the DV tag coming on, however the picture had a green tint/covering on it. Then I tried to play the file from oppo, and the picture played f...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Nope, the profile 5 won't even play the video in Kodi on either the Shield or Fire TV 4k. I'm not even sure how else to try it on the Fire TV since there's no internal player. I also tried some of the other options in the muxer as mentioned earlier in the thread, but nothing made a difference (diffe...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Try to use the command I gave you, using profile 5 even I doubt it will work What command did you give me? I'm re-muxing right now using mp4muxer profile 5. We'll see what happens. I doubt it will. I actually can't even remember if I was able to play mp4 files at all on the fire tv, other than kodi...

By the way, has anyone tried Amazon fire stick 4k for DV?
But they would need to mux in dolby vision profile 5. Profile 7 isn't supported.
I tried with both the mp4 and mkv and it didn't work. Although I think I was using profile 7.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Thinking this is the best place to ask: So making a disc backup with MakeMKV--choosing to decrypt the contents retains the DV layer? It's not explicitly stated that the backups discussed in this thread used the "decrypt" option, though I don't see how you could hand off any of the materials to othe...

Re: Deadpool 2 Super Duper Cut

Rip looks good. I skipped around the whole movie and fast forwarded through the beginning, and didn't see any problems. Tried with MPC-HC, VLC and Media Player and all were good. Will transfer to my Shield later. Sounds like you may have gotten a bad disc.

Re: Deadpool 2 Super Duper Cut

I actually came to report that it's rippable now as well. I never got a response from Mike but just checked anyway and it's ripping now. I'll report back later tonight whether I have any issues with the rip. What were the timestamps where you see the problem, and what were you using to watch? I'm no...

Re: WANTED: Results of UHD Rips with Dolby Vision

I got stuck in step two how can I use TS Muxer to open the ISO? thank you for your explanation I'm trying to follow your steps step by step Try doing folder type backup with makemkv which gives you the folder structure of the disc instead of ISO. Then just used TSMuxer on the main movie m2ts. That'...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Dv is really not that important to me, not enough to use a different container and loose lossless audio, if i want to watch dv i’ll just put the disc in my oppo, not a fan of the work around Sent from my iPhone Xs Max using Tapatalk Pro That's great for you, that has an Oppo. Part of the reason I'm...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

It's not re-encoding anything, not sure where you're getting that from. The point is getting Dolby Vision on some devices (LG and Vizio TV's at least, as far as I've seen), albeit without lossless audio. Right now I have a DV tv but I don't have an Atmos receiver yet, so right now there's actually n...
