Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Donpablo80 where is the compression mode in dvdfab? I use the trial and have only 3 attempts and i used 2 1º time I used the Passtrought MP4 and create a MP4 with dual layer DV, the 2º attempt I used the MP4 Dolby Vision and is very very rare, it takes long time and is a Passtrought too. Where is t...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Hmm, I just thought all hope is lost according to Grencola's comment. I don't trust Sony and Kodi won't get license. However, if DVDFab can indeed convert dual layer DV into single layer DV, then Sony TV might have a chance. But, how is it possible? If your TV can play the single layer LG DV demos ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

And no exist other program can make single layer dolby vision without compression? the only method was needing a Dolby CMU Workstation with Dolby Encoder Suite and an official license from Dolby to reauthor the film into a different container. Not entirely sure how DVDFab achieves this. I personall...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Tsmuxer doesn't reconize the single layer dvhe video track, so i can't mux it with the TrueHD Atmos audio track. Is there an other muxer to try with? Do you mean when demuxing? This: https://github.com/DolbyLaboratories/dlb_mp4demux/blob/master/bin/mp4demuxer_64bits.exe will demux your mp4 and give...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Well, whether the difference is visible or not is different topic. And this is very dependent in viewing environment, equipment and viewer. That's not true at all; HEVC is NOT just a lossy codec. It can be perfectly lossless. In fact, Blurays use HEVC :) This is also such minor compression, we're t...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

H.265 HEVC is lossy codec. Period. But that is literally what UHD Discs use.. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultra_HD_Blu-ray <<Encoding: H.265/MPEG-H Part 2 (HEVC)>> I’ve said that several times to you when we discussed on DV. It’s a common knowledge here. Doesn’t change the fact that the codec i...

Grencola, I recently got Atmos stuff. So back to this, any way to do DV with lossy Atmos? I know there is ATV4K solution, but I only have a Sony X700.
If you try what I said above, I bet the x700 would play it. the full uhd-bd bdmv rip, dvdfab, and tsmuxer is all you would need.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Nothing can make single layer DV from original dual layer of UHD bluray without decrease in quality. Because original streams/layers are encoded in HEVC which is "lossy" codec. Once you unpack/decode and re-encode, there goes your quality. Yes, but you can't see the difference between this encode o...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Sony TV's can't play dual layer video files in Dolby Vision, unfortunately. The test samples you tried are single layer files that can't be created without official dolby tools. Only certain TV models from LG, Vizio, and TCL can play dual layer dv files, otherwise you'll need either an Oppo 203 or ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

CloneBD works well with Dolby vision, it even can compress to a smaller file size, but it creates a Dolby digital track with audio description for people who are blind. So a man is telling what is happening on screen. I can not choose a different audio track. This happens with te uhd bluray of Cold...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Actually the 640kbps dd is best for me. My receiver doesn’t support 4K and also no Dolby Atmos. LG tv does, but I prefer audio from receiver so use optical which only supports up to dd/dts. :P Going to try with CloneBD though, just curious if it supports lossless audio. Maybe upgrade receiver in a ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Ola! Just managed to create my first working DV mp4 from mkv source (no stutter) :-) Thank you guys for helping out! (Grencola and fib1985 especially...) Used tsMuxeR to decode the base layer and DV enhancement layer (individually, error in tsMuxeR otherwise; something about 2 tracks possibly not s...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Hi tango306, Read your discussion with Grencola... I'm having trouble creating good mp4 from mkv. Been reading on this forum for that and it's hard ignore the discussion :P ...I was wondering why u think original UHD Dolby Vision Blu-ray discs are 12-bit? Or did I misunderstood? A few months ago (w...
