Re: Unable to rip DVDs of different regions?

And, just so you know, once you have a less-picky drive, MakeMKV works fine across regions. Two of my DVDs and all of my BD drives have yet to have their region chosen. I get an error message when they're first accessed about the region mis-match, but then everything just works.

Re: Feature Request: Highlight titles with duplicate segment

If you're thinking about this as a way to eliminate the 50-copies-of-a-movie-but-only-one-is-real problem, that isn't the only time you'll see titles that have the same chapters as other titles. What about on BDs, where there are several versions with scenes add/removed? For example, "English" vs "F...

Re: Subtitles issues in 480p and 720p

As SC implies with his question, DVDs are 480i, so you must be doing some form of re-encoding if you're getting a different resolution, OR you're not using standard commercial DVDs as the source. MakeMKV does not change the resolution of the video or subtitle streams. I have seen the exact issue you...

Re: The Sopranos S1D1

You say you sent logs to the support email address. That means only Mike would have seen them, and no, MakeMKV is not his "day job", so direct, official support comes when he can get to it. If you had posted the logs here, others who have experience looking at the logs might have been able to help, ...

Re: BD+ code error

When you got the error message, there was a path to a TGZ file displayed. You need to send that file to svq@makemkv.com to have it analyzed, and Mike can update the SVQs that MakeMKV uses. If the file is too big to email, you can use one of the free "drop box" services to upload it to, and send a LI...

Re: BONES - The Complete Eighth Season

You will need to use a "drop box" service, and send the link to pick up the file to svq@makemkv.com . I'm not that familiar with the free ones, because I run my own web servers.... it's easy to forward big stuff to Mike for me! ;)

One mentioned in another message today is "sendspace.com".

Re: Tree of Life Blu Ray

Is this a USB powered drive? Make sure you have sufficient power; plug it into a POWERED hub (rather than directly into the Mac), and use the second USB plug if your drive came with a dual-head USB cable. Many times, when a port-powered drive kicks into higher speeds, the USB power from a single USB...

As in generating an MKV file that contains the MVC 3d code, or saving the backup files that contain it? The answer to those is "yes".

As in being playable as 3D in any particular program? That depends upon the playback program...

Accompanying that report is a path to a TGZ file on your system, that should be sent to svq@makemkv.com to be used for generating the fix...

Re: Failed to save title 0 to file

Mike will have to decode the debug messages; they're saying that MakeMKV hit an unusual condition, and was attempting work-arounds. It would seem that they didn't work. The full log should be posted, to give Mike more information to work from. The AV sync issue warnings can be suppressed, and usuall...

Re: Getting a paid key in.....

Are you reporting that the paste-from-clipboard does nothing, or that the key isn't accepted when you paste it in? Every once in a while, I experience a "failure to paste" in Windows, because "something" (it will never tell me what) has "locked" the clipboard. These are usually announced by a warnin...

Re: General subtitle track with parts being marked as forced

When you "open" a disk, you can click on the triangle next to each title, and have access to selecting tracks. On a BD, all of the subtitle tracks have the option of selecting "forced only", which may or may not work... because not all forced subtitles are the same. Some have a separate track. Some ...

With debug logging enabled, at the top of your listing window, you will see something like this: MakeMKV v1.8.5 win(x64-release) started Debug logging enabled, log will be saved as C:\Users\jeffb/MakeMKV_log.txt The standard "skip" setting is 120 seconds, and your log shows a LOT of files skipped be...

Re: Clone Wars season 5 error DEBUG: Code 68 at aQz@ofj}|gB~

Debug codes generally mean MakeMKV encountered something weird, and tried to work around it. If it later says the title was saved, the work-around was successful, and the title is probably just fine. If it says the title wasn't saved, then you should post the debug logs, so that Mike can look at the...
