Re: UTF-8 Conversion

If it was sold legally in the US, there should at least be an FCC sticker with the registration number. That can be used to track down the manufacturer.

Re: UTF-8 Conversion

Romansh, don't get too picky about the model number thing.... There IS a unit out there advertised as the "Full HD 1080p 3D Media Center", by a company called K3.

Web search shows it to be a discontinued unit, though. As such, software updates are problem lacking.

Re: Feature request: Distinguish preferred language

If you are staying with the MKV format, you will want to find the MKVtoolnix tools. They will allow you to re-order the tracks, and even remove tracks you do not want. If you are converting to MP4 format, Handbrake can re-order the tracks as it does the conversion. Well, technically, you can also do...

Re: Blu Ray drive not recognized

Does the Mac see it as an optical drive? The operating system has to know about it before MakeMKV can know about it.

Re: Can the file naming suffix be supressed?

Do you have a track selected when you click on the pull-down? If you still have the disk selected, you are not at the file level yet, so there is no option to change the file name.

It would be a lot easier to try Hybrid if I had some idea what it is and where to find it... A Google search for "hybrid transcode video" came up with discussions on a variety of topics, none of which were a program named "Hybrid".

Re: Can't skip chapters on some MKV movies

That is an issue with the players themselves. Unless you remove the chapter track from the MKV file (and yes, there are tools that let you do that), it is copied in to be used by players that understand it. I have a couple of players that can read MKV files directly. If they are local files (flash d...

Re: Handbrake can't see subtitles from makeMKV?

You can still do batch ripping with Handbrake for Windows, but the GUI can only batch through the GUI, and the "queue" files it generates are useless for the Command Line Interface. You're either "all in" for the GUI, or "all in" for the CLI. My work flow for some projects HAS to go through a batch ...

Re: Handbrake can't see subtitles from makeMKV?

Disappointing... I have not had good luck with .NET-based stuff. The reason I went to just having HB write batch files was that they didn't crash because .NET couldn't write a log file that wasn't requested in the first place. Well, that, and the fact that I can modify a batch file with a tex...

While it probably won't help with this, have you tried it with version 1.8.3, which was released last week?

Re: I can't rip a disc to secondary HFS+ storage

The issue is, what is Macdrive telling Windows (and MakeMKV) about the characteristics of the HFS drive? A lot of drivers manage "foreign" drive geometries by mapping them into something the host operating system can recognize. If they make it look like NTFS, Windows will try to treat it as such, an...

Did the new release drop support for the GUI generating batch files, like the Nightly Builds did last July? I stopped updating when they did that, because it broke my work flow completely.
