Re: One License for Win7 & Ubuntu?

One license covers one machine running the software at any given time. Operating system and number of instances doesn't enter into the equation.

Key revocation means all older versions of MakeMKV would fail, too.

Re: Can MakeMKV create ISO images from DVDs?

There are a number of "rip to unencrypted ISO" programs out there, both free and to buy. Even the ones that are for Windows will run in a Windows virtual machine on the Mac. I have one... but, I can't remember the name of it, because I haven't used it in over a year. Google came up with several when...

Re: Hardware Error: Can I skip the faulty file

Well, kind of, if you continue to use that drive. But a "track following error" may be drive , not the disk. You didn't specify the kind of error you were getting, just that the system couldn't read the file. You can get a track following error if there is something IN the drive, blocking the moveme...

Re: Bug. Multiple runs at once switches drives

It isn't a bug, so much as a lacked feature - locking an instance of MakeMKV to a single optical drive. Since MakeMKV will attempt to use any optical drives it finds, multiple copies running at the same time think the "other instance's drive" is fair game. It's one of the more requested features to ...

Re: Hardware Error: Can I skip the faulty file

Try using the OPEN button, and let MakeMKV read the directory structure. Look at the list of titles that results from this scan. As you highlight each title in the left window, information about it, including the M2TS file that makes it up, will be shown in the right window. Since you're going throu...

Re: Error trying to convert Bluy Ray

Have you tried inserting the key from message referenced above? It is possible that there was a copy of MakeMKV running when you did the install, which prevented the registry from being updated properly with the new key.

Re: Understanding Minimum Title Length

The beauty of something like MakeMKV is that you, not someone else, gets to decide what the "accepted" methods are. Minimum title length is just one of the potential tools you can play with. ;) For your first few rips, setting a low minimum time and letting MakeMKV rip "everything" is how you will g...

With what?

If you have VLC installed, find a chapter break that demonstrates the problem, and check the same break viewing the DVD in VLC. Is the problem there in the original?

Re: Hardware Error: Can I skip the faulty file

OK, post the debug log, so we can see what is going on. MakeMKV usually only reads entire files (like a .m2ts) when doing the rip itself; just "opening" the disk reads the directory structure and certain support files. So, if it is trying to read 00091.m2ts, it is because that is one of the tracks y...

Re: Rip Failed: The Godfather Part II - The Coppola Restorat

If you don't select it, MakeMKV won't try to read it. It's the movie you're trying to rip.

Re: Understanding Minimum Title Length

Those aren't "parts of the movie", they're tracks on the disk, which could be promo videos, deleted scenes, menu displays, or pretty much anything. If you want to see them, you set the minimum title length to zero, and MakeMKV will rip them all... and you can view them with VLC or whatever you use. ...
