Re: 3 files, different size, content looks the same

You try very hard to remove the information necessary to answer your question.

If it's a Disney title, the first one is English. The difference would be in the titles and credits, and any scenes that have signs in them.

If it isn't a Disney title, there is insufficient information to guess.

Re: error with The Mechanic (netflix us disc)

Your drive cannot read parts of it. The first error is where the drive reached a bad spot, then Windows timed out waiting for the drive to STOP trying to read the bad spot. At the very least, any disk you receive from Netflix or other services should be cleaned before ripping. Sometimes they're too ...

Re: Best settings for Direct Play on Plex?

Actually, if you have the Plex client on each device, the server is supposed to adjust to the client's capabilities. Of course, you will run into the limit of how much processor power the Synology has, if you're running Plex directly on it, when you enable transcoding. You may want to consider using...

Re: Version is out of date?

You can temporarily set your system date to a date prior to your current key expiring (25 January 2019 will work for 1.14.2), start MakeMKV, then put the system date back to current. Then you can enter the current beta key.

MakeMKV only checks for key expiration on start-up.

Re: Drive Not Seeing Any Disc

Have you tried resetting the computer? Not just a reboot - you need to get the machine to reset the hardware, which can be via the reset button (if it has one and you're adventurous), or a shutdown/power off/power on cycle. There are times when Windows and other operating systems lose track of some ...

Re: Help is my drive compatible? Wont read uhd

Best, what Marty said. There are some portable UHD-capable drives, but not many of them are compatible out of the box. The "full size" internal drives are usually much faster and less fragile than most "USB" drives, and the enclosures are not expensive. I have a LiteOn EB1 drive that is an "official...

Re: Version is out of date?

I take it you didn't bother to follow the link in the message you replied to, so you didn't get the updated beta key that was published at the end of January, and didn't put it in the blank under Help->Register.

Re: Automatically open disc & Mount ISO?

If your player supports it, you can install a library (supplied with MakeMKV) that allows software to use MakeMKV as a "streaming server".

I tested it once, years ago, but couldn't figure out how it was particularly useful.

Re: Does libredrive mode allow makemkv to be more resilient when ripping?

The drive itself is the limiting factor - if it cannot read the disk, it will give errors with normal firmware and with unrestricted "RAMware". The optics and detection hardware don't change with LD mode. What LD mode will do is remove limitations where the hardware can read the disk, but the firmwa...

Re: LibreDrive Compatiblity

If you're looking for it to read UHD disks, it won't.

If that isn't a factor, I'll ask a friend of mine to test the one I gave him when I found out that it wouldn't work for UHD.

Re: [Request] Automatic title scanning

I've noticed that when MakeMKV starts up it will automatically scans the disc to show the list of titles. It does? Not that I've seen. Starting MakeMKV with a disk inserted, the disk gets scanned enough to display its information in the Info window, but I still have to click the Open button to get ...

Re: Lost in trhe ripping to Hard Drive process

If you do not have the volume key from another source, MakeMKV has to at least be able to read the "beginning" of the disc, where they key information is held. While this topic is in the UHD section, the instructions for obtaining the needed file is included: https://makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?...

Re: video 1040p

MakeMKV isn't limited to ripping DVDs (pulling video is "ripping", "burning" is writing to an optical disc). It does Bluray and UHD BD, if your drive supports them.
