Re: Error copying Shutter Island

You can try using version 1.10.2, in case you are being caught by the bug Mike is looking at in 1.10.4. Old versions here, if you don't still have the install file: /download/old/ If you rip the disk multiple times, do the errors ALWAYS occur at the same offset, or does it move around? The errors in...

Re: MakeMKV No longer backs up Blu-rays

Moot point now, because the new key is available. But, you go to your system's date set program to put the date (don't bother with the time) back to before the key expired, start MakeMKV, then you can reset the system date to the current day. After that, you go to Help->Register, and enter the beta ...

Re: Error copying Shutter Island

Posix errors are rarely, if ever, encryption-related. They're most often related to disk defects, either scratches or dirt.

Start with cleaning the disk; it's the biggest possibility.

Re: CyberLink MediaEspresso

On Windows, handbrake (handbrake.fr) can use QSV. If you're not concerned about quality or size, that is. The intention of QSV is for things like a transcoding server - you have video in one format, and it will reformat it on the fly for clients, according to what they support. It is VERY good at th...

They both end up at the same place (Mike's mailbox), but I believe he uses the two addresses to keep SVQ and BD+ emails separate from "regular" emails.

Re: CyberLink MediaEspresso

Wow... had not heard of this program before, but a google search for it comes up with a wide variety of links on the first page, starting with CyberLink's product page, and ending with "How do I remove this malware?" Based on their limitations page: WAV, FLAC, WMA, MP3, M4A (AAC / ALAC), V...

Re: Kingsglaive-This disc uses newer version of AACS protect

"Bricking" depends upon the drive - In the worst case, it should still work for DVD. But, if the disk did in fact revoke the current key used by MakeMKV, MakeMKV won't be able to read ANY Bluray in that drive, in the worst case, and fixing it will require a new version of MakeMKV with a no...

Re: MakeMKV No longer backs up Blu-rays

Bluray functionality has a 30-day trial limit on it. You get it back by re-entering the beta key, found here: http://makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1053 However, the current beta key is expired, so you have to set your system date back to the 25th of January or maybe a bit earlier when s...

Re: Site secutiry and purchase

The site where you actually order the key from is a service provider, and their site uses SSL. At least, it did when I bought my key... The page you land on when you click "buy" is flagged as "mixed security" by Firefox, because it has links to images on the MakeMKV website. Even...

Re: Beta key expired?

The beta key was updated when 1.10.4 came out, but that was almost two months ago.

For now, you can set your system date back to the 25th, start MakeMKV, then reset the date to current.

Re: Anime DVD Issues

Prior versions are found here: /download/old/

If, say, version 1.9.9 will rip a disk that 1.10.4 won't, then Mike needs to look into it. Just be aware that you might not be able to rip the latest BD titles with the older version.

Others have had issues with season 5: http://makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=9070

Are you referring to playing the MKV files or playing from the disks themselves?

Is your aac-stereo.mmcp.xml file the original, stock file?

What happens if you use the default profile?

Re: Any Reason to Keep AnyDVD

But, recoding the video would break the branching created for the original source, assuming the recoding software (in my case handbrake) could figure out the "combo" file generated by Xin1generator. But the arguments either way might be moot - Given that a recoding can shrink the file sign...
