Re: Banned in the USA

Must be a local thing - makemkv.com resolves just fine via our local servers, including Comcast.net.

I've used the direct IP when there were DNS problems on Mike's hosting side, but those are usually short lived.

Re: AACS host certificate errors

AACS version 16 is pretty old... even my drives are at 23, and I think it was v37 that triggered the problems people were having.

Turning on debugging and posting the logs from the failed rips is definitely in order!

Re: AACS host certificate errors

What version of MakeMKV? Version 1.7.8 and earlier (and 1.7.71 is earlier!) have AACS access information that was revoked by several recent BDs, including Total Recall. You have to use a newer version once you've tried ripping one of the "problem" disks, because of this. NO protected BD will work af...

The link (which Mike has also sent you) is embedded in the log, right after where MakeMKV told you that it created the dump file: 003332:0000 Saved BD+ dump file as C:\Users\barry/.MakeMKV/dump_Life_of_Pi_2180D52A61A509C1.tgz 003321:0000 Failed to process BD+ code, please check http://www.makemkv.co...

Re: Life of Pi

You aren't going to be able to upload 27MB as an attachment here, and most mail services won't allow you to email it. HOWEVER, there are services like "dropbox" (several free ones), where you can upload the file, and provide Mike with a link, using the instructions on the SVQ page linked to in the l...

Re: SLOOOOOOOOW

I doubt that it is MakeMKV that's slowing things down, because I get ripping speeds of 5X or faster running a dual rip (2 copies of MakeMKV running, BD in one drive, DVD in the other) on similar hardware, and it speeds up as it gets to the outer tracks. When was the last time you cleaned the drive? ...

Re: Sponge Bob Season 6, Region 1 NTSC

Drive BD-ROM ATAPI iHOS104 WL0D has RPC protection that can not be bypassed. Change drive region or update drive firmware from ...... Errors likely to follow. That line says that the drive being used won't let MakeMKV bypass the region coding. As it says, errors will follow. There is a link that wi...

Re: Making MKV with "DEBUG: code ..." complete

While Mike is the only one that can really say what all the debug messages mean, if MakeMKV says it saved the file, it probably is OK.

I suspect the codes are there in case a fix-up being used fails; It is a bit less verbose than saying, "found condition XXXX, applying fix-up X439, success!".

Re: Ratatouille Blu-Ray error

Insufficient information. Follow the link in my signature on how to enable debugging in MakeMKV, and post the log it generates. Just because you can play a disk in a BD player doesn't mean you can properly rip it. A BD player will accept scratches, missing sectors, etc. Ripping software wants to mak...

Re: No subs when streaming with Beamer to AppleTV

When you convert with handbrake, are you writing it with the AppleTV profile? If so, you're converting the MKV to an MP4, which AppleTV understands directly.

Probably asking about someplace that lists the "right" title to grab from disks that have multiple fake tracks.

Re: Problems with Samsung SE-506 BB

It's the nature of the BD specification - if you want the certification, you have to put in the DRM parts. And Total Recall just happened to be one of the newer disks popular enough to get ripped by people around here. According to MakeMKV, the highest AACS my BDs have had was 23. Guess I don't like...

Re: Hmm, MakeMKV works fine when I deselect audio...

I remember Mike mentioning a confirmed bug in 1.8.0 that involves using FLAC audio encoding. In one case reported, it would simply stop at 99% done. The work around was to not use FLAC until 1.8.1 comes out.

Does it work if you select the default profile, instead of FLAC?

Re: Problems with Samsung SE-506 BB

If you're talking about AACS, you're talking Bluray, not DVD. And, if a disk you recently ripped has a newer version of AACS than MakeMKV supports, it is possible the disk told your drive to disable the keys MakeMKV uses. This is what happened to anyone who tried ripping Total Recall; their drives s...
