Re: Can my drive rip UHD (Verbatim 43888)?

Sorry about that! I could've sworn I attached a jpg with the error code. The error code I am getting is below. MakeMKV v1.17.5 darwin(x64-release) started Optical drive "BD-RE PIONEER BD-RW BDR-UD04 1.14 CGDL110775WLd" opened in OS access mode. Downloading latest SDF to /Users/elsienolasc...

Re: Mactheripper message

Is there a way to suppress that Mactheripper message? I'm now getting it on every DVD that I rip. The DVDs rip fine for the most part, except for a couple that have had unrecoverable errors, but these are all factory fresh, new sets. Homicide, Law & Order (over 100 discs!), and the error messag...

Am I right in reading going down to 1.00 would mainly be for DVD compatibility? Otherwise, thank you!
No, it's for software compatibility with UHD discs. 1.00 works with all popular rippers such as DVDFab, MakeMKV, AnyDVD etc, whereas the 1.03-MK only works with MakeMKV and AnyDVD.

Re: Archgon MD-8107-US-UHD (LG BU40N external slim) stopped working

I appreciate it! I think I've determined it's beyond me wanting to repair, so I decided to get a new one. This new one seems to be FW 1.02 This is what I see in the info panel now: Drive Information OS device name: \Device\CdRom0 Current profile: BD-ROM Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST Product: BD-RE BU40N R...

Re: SDFtool Flasher

Hi Marty, I had a question as a newbie, I was about to flash my drive with the SDFtool, but I was curious what the difference was between write and read, I'm a bit uncertain. Is that referring to the burner drive and a non disc burning drive? Is there something else it means? I was searching the si...

Re: Pioneer BDR-212V

I just bought a Pioneer BDR-212V which was manufactured in March 2022 and has firmware 1.01. First run of MakeMKV created a dump*.tgz file (should I send it in?). Out of the box, it does not recognize UHD and LibreDrive information shows: Status: Possible, not yet enabled Drive platform: RS8F00 Fir...

Re: First time ripping "fail"

Hello I am getting a message saying "copy complete. 0 titles saved, 1 failed". I think I messed up in my flashing process. I followed a video from TwoGuyzTech and bought an LG WH14NS40 and also followed the forum however I didn't see the same file they used to flash in the "All You N...

In addition to the recommendation for Asmcom, in Europe you can also buy a Verbatim 43888, which has a Pioneer UD04 inside it; it should be fully enabled right out of the box.

Re: LG BP50NB40 not opening movie

I just got this LG BP50NB40 drive and a copy of Spider man: Across the Spider Verse that I want to rip, at this point actually open. The first thing I wanted to do was try and watch the movie through windows itself to see if its working. But every time I did try file explorer wouldn't open it and s...

Re: Lost UHD support on flashed drive

@Billycar11 does it seem plausible that the optics need to be cleaned when it reads all BD and reads older UHD? To be clear it is not a situation where it needs to be re-flashed or updated if that even exists? Usually, UHD discs need to be cleaned because they are brand new. Also, it could just be ...

Re: Drive flashed fine, UHD rip failed

It didn't rip at all, did these errors then stopped. My 4K Oppenheimer disk just got delivered and it ripped and encoded fine, guess that 4K Moonfall just won't rip. Oh and that 4K Moonfall disk was brand new, never been played before. Usually, they need to be cleaned because they are brand new.
