From what i have been reading on the kodi forums. The issue is with ffmpeg’s max bitrate cap for truehd/atmos. Currently 10Mbit and the truehd spec is max 18Mbit. It’s not a mkv encoding issue

Rip it to folder backup with MakeMKV, then open that with CloneBD and create the MKV. That should fix it.

A quick search reveals, Pioneer drives are not and most likely will never be supported

@mike admin, I mentioned this already in various unrelated other posts. The mkv file format doesn't cover all features anymore that are available on UHD discs today. Especially DolbyVison and HDR.
