Re: Pioneer BD-RW BDR-S13JX, BD-RW BDR-X13U need firmware
Yes i realized that, i didn't know about the nuances of 4k ripping, just assumed pop in disc and rip, but looks like it is very sophisticated with encryptions. I had my older Asus and LG drives extracted from storage, was trying yesterday with my Asus BC-12B1ST v3.00 hooked to sata to USB 3.0 cable...

Re: SDFtool Flasher
Hello everyone, I have been trying to follow the guide and flash my LG drive to enable libredrive, however I have been failing at it. I keep receiving an error code of: 0x82052603 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Rdj_joTS0ULTByDH0Zsm82M5_L0k1bve/view?usp=drive_link I have been trying to flash it to...

Re: Disc Playback Issues on Verbatim Pioneer Driver
Hi! Have you had any luck in resolving this? Presumably, I am having the same issue - albeit using Kodi to playback the disc. No issues playing rips, but sometimes I want to play the disc right away and encounter the same freezes/crashes. As you described, a few minutes after crashing I can hear th...

Re: Feel Like Making UHD
it's more likely you've got a dirty disk, and cleaning it will be helpful. Playing isn't a "yeah it works" thing, because the playback software is damage-tolerant. Of course I cleaned the disc not a rookie, but thanks. And the drive Asus,(I have 2) I have been using to rip disk probably 4...

Re: Looking for advice. Is it helpful to have diverse drive models?
I have a pair of identical LG WH16NS40 drives. They work well with LibreDrive v1.02. Oddly, the second drive always worked better than the first drive until I cleaned the laser lens in each drive. Now they both work equally well. Still, there is the odd disk I cannot read. Would it be helpful to ha...

Re: BU40N - AACS host certificate is revoked
Yes, as soon as the drive begins to initialize a disc, the AACS revision is checked and updated if necessary.

Re: Bought a LG BU40N, can't find any "SVC NS50+" label.
Yes, it happens quite often with UHD discs. Just give them a good clean before trying to rip again.OldMovieFan wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 10:59 amJust an update: at third attempt, I can now rip '1917'.
Must have been a dirty disc or something.
Thanks again.

Re: BU40N - AACS host certificate is revoked
The AACS version has nothing to do with the firmware either. The only reason you would ever consider updating the firmware is if you burn a lot of discs and the drive isn't working particularly well with a certain brand of blank media. So, no, never update it. Thanks for clearing that one up for me...

Re: BU40N - AACS host certificate is revoked
You are already on the best firmware for that drive. Leave it on 1.00. If you have trouble reading a disc, clean the disc. I'm just curious about the fact that my highest AACS version is 61, while I have seen (on YouTube, I think) there being Blu-Ray discs of higher AACS version. This is what I mea...
