Re: ERROR DVD The Divergent Series Allegiant Parte 1 (Lionsg

There is a limit to what you can do to a DVD in the way of protection and still be able to sell it - there are a LOT of DVD players out there, and the DVD standard did not allow the same level of manipulation that BD does. WITHOUT LOG INFORMATION, there is no way to even GUESS at what your problem i...

Some of the drop downs are not available if you have not enabled "Expert mode" in Preferences->General.

Re: ERROR DVD The Divergent Series Allegiant Parte 1 (Lionsg

Without seeing the log of the attempted rip, there is not much we can suggest.

Make sure you have debug logging turned on (link in my signature is a FAQ explaining how to turn it on), and copy/paste the expanded log into a reply here.

Re: What is current key?

The current key is where it always is... "How to buy" is a link not found on the website, despite numerous requests to Mike to add it. In Help, there is a "Purchase" option, which will load the page /buy/ with information. As for the "too much personal information", bla...

Re: Eye In the Sky error.

What type drive is this? Internal or external? The error sequence is similar to what is seen with power supply issues on external, USB-powered drives. It could also happen with a dirty/damaged disk, but that normally puts out different errors. It also appears that your system somehow decided the fil...

Re: The Expanse disc 1 will not open

If this is an "Extras" disk, it is quite possible that the 1 hour minimum you've put on titles is making it impossible for MakeMKV to find anything to rip. What happens if you shorten the minimum to, say, 120 seconds?

Re: Can Not Rip Certain Disks

Without log information, it's rather hard to even guess. The FAQ in my signature tells you how to turn on debug logging (and other stuff, the important part right now is getting logging turned on).

Does "remote Bluray" mean a USB-powered drive, or something controlled over a network?

Re: The Expanse disc 1 will not open

Mail goes to Mike directly... If you could include the log in a reply, maybe the collective knowledge of "everyone except Mike" can come up with a reason, as well.

Don't bother trying to do it as an attachment - it probably won't work. Just copy and paste the text from the log in a reply.

Re: The Expanse disc 1 will not open

Follow the instructions in the FAQ link in my signature to turn on debug logging, and try the rip again.

Right now, without a log of what happened, the answer is, "don't know".

Re: Cowboy Bebop -- Not finding all titles

I can't say on the Funimation disks - I only have the older Bandai release on DVD, which was individual episode files. As I said, though, it's rare for Funimation to combine them. On the DVDs, were they combined as well, or individual episode files? I can understand not wanting to do the extra work,...

Re: What most affects Ripping/Encoding speed? CPU? Video?

Ripping with MakeMKV is affected by the speed of your BD drive and the write speed of your disk system. Very little else matters, because ripping is not particularly CPU intense. I used to regularly rip on a 2-core Dell with a DVD and BD drive, seeing speeds in excess of 8x on both drives at the sam...

Re: DVD SRT

There are a number of tools out there to convert the graphic DVD subtitles ("VOBSUB") into text, with varying degrees of success. There are also tools that pull the VOBSUBs out of the MKV file, and can merge the SRT or ASS/SSA files you find on internet into the MKV file (ASS/SSA is much m...

Re: Using Profile to Select Specific Tracks

"Format" is a text file, but you will probably want an XML-aware text editor to make sure your tags are balanced. Save your edited files in your MakeMKV data directory, rather than in the program directory; if you don't, they will be erased at each program update. The data directory (set i...

Re: MakeMKV tutorial, or what do all these check boxes do?

For making selections of individual tracks "automatically", you can look through the messages in "Advanced MakeMKV usage"; I don't remember seeing any real tutorial on what you can do with it, and I do all my track selection external to MakeMKV. That is, I have MakeMKV rip everyt...
