Re: LG BE16NU50 started ejecting discs without reading them
Has the drive been cleaned recently? It might not be detecting the data flashes that would come from trying to read a disk, and ejecting it as "foreign matter". A blast from an "air duster" can might be all it needs. I have run one of those cleaner discs with the brushes through...

Re: LG BE16NU50 started ejecting discs without reading them
What I meant to say was that the first drive ejects all discs without reading them. Swapping in the second drive is fine as it works perfectly, but I’d like to get the first one working as well so I have a backup. I have tried running a cleaner disc through it, but that made no difference. i unders...

Re: Deadpool 2
Does this describe the situation? https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=17872 Thanks, but not really. I am using 1.12.3, and am getting hashcheck errors like: The source file '/BDMV/STREAM/00068.m2ts' is corrupt or invalid at offset 26490660864, attempting to work around AV sync iss...

Deadpool 2
I have just purchased the new Deadpool 2 UHD, and it won't rip due to hashcheck errors.
'I checked the latest hashed key file and that title is included, and I am sure I have seen some posts here from people who have done it successfully?

LG BE16NU50 started ejecting discs without reading them
I’ve had the BE16NU50 external drive attached to my iMac for about 6 months, and it has been great. It has now just started to eject discs without reading them. There is minimal noise from the drive while the disc stays in for about a minute and is then ejected. I have tried UHD and normal Blu-ray D...

Re: The Commuter UHD
May want to read this thread: http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic ... 12&t=17487 May take a few tries to get a successful read through. Has happened to numerous people on several movies/discs from multiple regions. Thanks. It turns out that it is a problem with hashed key not being there. T...

Re: The Commuter UHD
Thanks. It was actually the three versions of the film on the same disc that I was referring to. The disc wouldn't open at all when I first purchased it earlier in the week, but does with the latest hashed keys file. I still don't think it is quite right as it fails halfway through, but that might b...

The Commuter UHD
I have just bought the UK disc.
There are three versions of the film on there, does any one know the differences?

Re: Compatible MAC UHD Drives
If you'd like an external drive, I have been using this one with a Mac with no problems for UHD or Blu-ray:

It needs to be firmware 1.01 or earlier as far as I know.

Re: jigsaw 4k disc
This is the first disc that I have had fail.
I get a variety of error messages, but mostly end up with 'No disc inserted'. Is there any way around this for the UK disc?

Re: Increasing ripping speed
Ripping speeds are weird, at best. The max rates listed are for reads of the outer tracks of single-layer disks, which means less than 25GB for BD. Switching to a dual-layer disk seems to knock about 40% off that maximum, from what I'm reading, and quad-layer disks drop down much further. Best I've...

Increasing ripping speed
I have recently replaced my Samsung SE-506CB external drive with an LG BE16NU50. I did it to get a UHD friendly drive, but I have also noticed a good increase in the speed for ripping standard Blu-rays. It has gone up from around 2.0x to around 5x. This has made me wonder what the limiting factor is...

Re: UHD drives
Just to update this, I received the BE16NU50 and it works fine with my Mac and MakeMKV. I did have to open the box to find out the details of the drive. The outer box was not sealed anyway, despite looking as though it was definitely a brand new one that hadn't been opened before. The manufacture d...

Re: UHD drives
LG BE16NU50 with the 1.01 firmware. 1.02 breaks it, so get one and check the underside to see which version it has. The august 2017 batch works, 1.02 was released in december. Appreciate the advice! Are there any other models that fit the same bill, since ordering and returning the BE16NU50 in the ...
