Re: Don't want to give up on makemkv, but...
The process is always the same, it makes no difference to rip DVD, Blu-ray or UHD. Looks very strange. The Phillips BD-RE BDD1001 is very old (around 2009) and MakeMKV has trouble to access the drive to get access to the AACS data. Yes, the Blu-ray has an old AACS 30 version which is not the problem...

Re: Don't want to give up on makemkv, but...
The debug log is a simple text file and can be opened with "Notepad" (Standard Windows Program). You can stop and restart MakeMKV to create a fresh debug log. Create the error again and copy the log into in the forum (All, not only some pices). The only way I've been able to rip a blu-ray ...

Re: Don't want to give up on makemkv, but...
There is a MakeMKV setting that lets the program contact the server and download the latest Blu-ray keys. Make sure that is enabled Yes or manually download https://www.makeMKV.com/svq/dsall.svq and put that in your data directory (also shown in MakeMKV settings. I think this is no longer working. ...

Re: Complete newbie, a couple of questions
I was ripping them at 720p in Handbrake Sure ? The nativ resolution for PAL DVD are 720x576i50 (Interlaced). This results after the deinterlace process to 25 Fullframes. If you have specified 720p (this is always the vertical lines specifcation) you waste a lot of time and spcae to "pimp"...

BDMV is a folder!
Did you look into the BDMV folder? The index.bmmv is located there (in case of an MakMKV backup)

Re: BD Java - not recognized in Java RE
Yes, the OP also has a JDK (Development Kit), don't know if a JRE (Runtime Evironment) is included in this version. JDK are only needed for developers, but not for executing already build java code. I use the Orcale JRE version from https://www.java.com/ Simply install it, no special things needs to...

Re: HELP: Poor quality rips, no errors
First simple test to valide that the rip was okay and the problem is not within the mkv file. Play it on the PC with VLC from an local device. If with works fine, the problem is within your PLEX environment.

Re: Title length changes when DVD opened manually
The normal logical view based von the IFO data shows Segment Map 2-18, the manual mode selects all 18 segments (chapters). So the first segment is not included. Rip both (or only the first segment) und you see what is in front of the movie in manual mode.

Re: My Brilliant Friend Season 2
What I thought previously was if I owned a Libdrive player, no matter of new the AACS protection was, I bypassed it. I seem wrong :) If someone can explain this to me ? Libredrive bypasses some AACS things, special the revoke process. But it needs still the volume key to decrypt the data. You must ...
