One audio track does not have the option to copy. After Hour
The Martin Scorsese picture After Hours DVD that is included in the Martin Scorsese Collection but also is available separately has three audio tracks when I play the DVD, the English, the French and the commentary but the only two options are provided when converting. I have been unclicking the for...

Re: Is there a way to makemkv auto copy every audio track?
Yeah that is pretty much what happened. When I started using the program it saved the files to the hardrive F but all of a sudden it started saving to c. Changing the default in the menu does not change what it does. I will look into what you suggested. Many thank yous.

Re: New to this, need advice on storage and cropping, etc
Cropping requires decoding the video, then recoding it with just the information you want. That means a tool like Handbrake. Not to mention that the size can be significantly reduced by using the better encoding algorithms (h264 instead of MPEG2 from DVDs). Frankly, if you're at ALL worried about s...

Re: New to this, need advice on storage and cropping, etc
I didn't count Avisynth as a serious option because of OP's time constraints. Fixing filters for "3000 discs from 1500 releases", even if it's not all of them, is probably a major pain :). Unless lots of them respond positively to the same settings, but only OP will know that... Hmmm, if ...

Re: Is there a way to makemkv auto copy every audio track?
Batch conversion: http://makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=6556 Long thread, but it might help. Personally, I rip EVERYTHING, with the exception of 3D tracks, and sort it out later when I convert the files with Handbrake. If you're concerned enough about space to want to remove audio trac...

Re: Is there a way to makemkv auto copy every audio track?
Thanks for that piece of information. Now that I have experimented with deselection and adding I do see that the foreign language audio and subtitle tracks make enough of a difference in file size that I am planning on getting rid of them. On the files that I have made that have not lost a random co...

All I see is this there :
-sel:all,+sel:(favlang|nolang|single),-sel:(havemulti|havecore),-sel:mvcvideo,=100:all,-10:favlang
and I have no idea what it means.

Is there a way to makemkv auto copy every audio track?
I thought it did but random audio tracks are not carrying over, mostly the commentary tracks. I might would want to auto not include spanish or french tracks either but I had heard they don't really affect the file size anyways. I haven't even been clicking the title to check, I thought they all car...

Re: New to this, need advice on storage and cropping, etc
Well time is the most important thing to me right now followed by quality. Space is an issue however, as is money. I have not been very happy with the video downgrade in quality. It has seemed, from lack of a better term, thin, hollow, I just can't say but I notice the visual difference in compressi...

New to this, need advice on storage and cropping, etc
I have been experimenting with makemkv and handbrake for compression for the last few months and I have decided Handbrake is too much trouble. It takes far too long and the end results are not always as desired. I am going to go lossless as well as makemkv makes them but this requires much more hd s...
