Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

As of right now for the very few Dolby Vision + Dolby Atmos titles I do want to watch I am OK just buying the UHD Bluray. Those are movies I would generally rewatch. Otherwise lossless sound beats DV for me. So I just need to make sure I use M2TS in the case of Atmos TrueHD, otherwise MKV is fine fo...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Just a recap since I haven't actively followed the thread. - If I want DV + Atmos I need to use yusesope's server and apk which mandates a device that you can install apk like a Shield? - Does the app work with dual layer DV? - I also have a FireTV 4K stick. That doesn't do lossless audio so what's ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

This is good news, I suppose. DV titles are growing and nowadays a lot of movies come with Atmos. I am reluctant to give up lossless audio & Atmos for DV. I can settle for DD+ & Atmos, but that doesn't look like is happening anytime soon for ripped UHDs. That just leaves the .mp4 container D...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Oh hell yeah. That's awesome. Yes I get that it says currently no plans for dual layer but there's at least a chance. Given the m2ts support we can have our cake and eat it to with regard to atmos. That's rather exciting. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk X700 already has Atmos in M2TS. Honestly...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

That new shield looks amazing spec-wise. I doubt it will play double layer DV. But it has gigabit ethernet and can passthrough lossless so that's a big plus over the 100Mbit X700 I am using. Highly interested if it can play the DV rips.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Grencola, are there public tools to down mix a TrueHD Atmos track into a DD+ Atmos? For the purposes of MP4 DV with DD+Atmos.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Can you type a larger number into the Bit Rate input box? like 80000 instead of 50000? Nope, defaults to the max of 50,000. If anybody else has more luck, please share. But a 30GB hit (subtract the lossless audio, still at least 20GB) is not something I am comfortable with. I rather get lossy Atmos...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I was able to get the slider working but it's still fairly low and get a 46GB output file from a 80+ GB input file. This solution for me is a no-go. I'll stick with MP4 passthrough and 5.1 1.5MBit audio or HDR + Atmos and lossless for now. The titles I would want everything I can just buy. Until a s...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Grencola, I recently got Atmos stuff. So back to this, any way to do DV with lossy Atmos? I know there is ATV4K solution, but I only have a Sony X700.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

enabling the dv option it has just essentially forces fake dv from the base hdr10 layer without seeing the actual dv Metadata. the tv might say dv, but check the player info - it will only be hdr10. I thought the same thing at first too. (see pg. 9) Even on the mp4 lossy audio files? Also, which ar...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

My X700 is stable. Wish it had gigabit ethernet, but other than that it works. You also have to manually enabled DV in the menu which can be annoying.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

so demux the audio track in DD+ (E-AC3) format with tsmuxer result in playable audio with LG TV C8 ? Im still dont get this point. Thx to all. I have LG C8, too. If you demux the TrueHD track you usually get a 640kbs. If you have a native DD+ track at 1.5Mbit then use that. What I have been ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

you don't rename any extension, you just demux the dts file Xmedia spits out and it should split apart the dd+ ac3 track from the dts one so you can just delete the dts track and mp4mux the dd+ audio. maybe it's an AVR / BDP glitch? I could investigate further by using another tool, but so far it's...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

EDIT: had to rename .eac3 to .ec3 and it worked. No need to demux after the DTS -> DDP recode with Xmedia, just rename the file. Grencola, I need your advice if you have actually gotten DD+ to play correctly. Running eac3to or your program plays DV and 640 DD no issue. When I did a DTS track convert...
