Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I use a Shield connected to a Yamaha Atmos receiver, but I always test with the internal LG player also, to test maximum compatibility. In the past, none of my remuxes couldn't be played with the LG, but the Shield did. Now it works flawlessly with both. Have you tried any titles that're listed as ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Do you mean the internal LG player? Could you summarize the steps you follow? Thanks The method which I currently use is mp4box and mp4muxer, since it can handle dts sound but it is taking soooo long. If the internal LG player is your only playback device, stick with mp4muxer. There's no point in m...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

It takes me around three hours to compile a Dolby vision movie. LG can play lossless DTS. I don't know if my LG oled C7 can handle DTS in a TS format. However, if there is a faster way for me I would like to hear. mp4muxer taking 3 hours sounds like a disk i/o bottleneck more than anything. If that...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I have compiled a TsMuxer that forces dvhe.05.06 profile. It works nice where 08.06 played choppy in my Lg. You can find it here http://katfile.com/1uvd80v1b0zd/tsMuxer_(05.06_fix).zip.html Do you mean the internal LG player? Could you summarize the steps you follow? Thanks The method which I curre...

Re: "IT" Chapter 1 4K UHD

It's not a decryption/encryption issue. If it was one, you would've never gotten to the screen to pick out the titles. Offset errors are usually indications of a bad disc/drive.

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

Unless the video track is constructed differently when the headers change, you can probably just load the 1.15.1 mkv and have makemkv save it again under the new version.

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

Weird question. read this as future looking, if not possible today, the question is what's reasonable to expect in future (i.e. is it just a software engineering problem to be solved as people know how to do it, just it hasn't been done yet) is it possible to convert easily (losslessly?) between di...

Re: Star Wars 4Ks

Do ANY of the lastest 4K releases have Dolby Vision? I think The Last Jedi does....but only if you buy is alone. The Skywalker Box set I thought would contain DV, but everything I read says on HDR. How can you know? Using this page as a reference , The Last Jedi single is the only Star Wars 4K rele...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I noticed he said "Single Layer", any idea what profile he is talking about? not sure, but judging by the mp4 and pcm audio I'm guessing profile 7. Also, the guy who sent me this video said profile 5 dv rips work in kodi 19 on his shield. can anyone with a shield verify that? Looks like i...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

If one open a Dolby Vision mkv created with 1.51.1 with 1.15.1, there's no indication that the video is dolby vision, it just shows Codec: MpegH HEVC Main10@L5.1 while somewhat cosmetic, it probably should show the dolby vision? There's no support yet in any playback software or mediainfo to detect...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1

The progress made to finally get DV on MKV is awesome but it won't do any good if you can't trust the color reproduction in the only device where you will be able to see for the moment, which is the Shield TV Pro 2019 Plex on LG Smart TV https://i.ibb.co/pWqs341/plex-tv.jpg Plex on Nvidia Shield Pr...

Re: Valerian UHD rip larger with v1.15.1 than with v1.14.7

Would this be attributable to 1.15.1 saving the Dolby Vision track, which 1.14.7 did not? Yep, that's exactly why. 1.15.1 now merges the 2 original HEVC tracks of a dolby vision title into a single track. Valerian has a full enhancement layer (FEL) in it's second track that's probably about 8 gigs....

For those who want to use the command line (on Windows, MacOS and Linux), you can use your version of Python (with python >= 3) but you must first install "bitstring"

Code: Select all

pip install bitstring
