Re: Just grabbed an old revision WH16NS40, will I have any issues?

STOP!!!

Versions of LG WH16NS40 manufactured before ~Oct. 2015 are too old to support UHD (HW predates the standard). MakeMKV will report " Drive Platform MT1939".

"Drive Platform MT1959" is required for UHD.

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023

Europe? You could buy a pre-flashed/tested drive from asmcom, or one of the other vendors (by location) lurking hereabouts.

Re: Lost UHD support on flashed drive

Could be grounds for cleaning the drive optics? @Billycar11, or @MartyMcNuts might be able to offer some guidance? I've exhausted my conventional wisdom... & there's a Nor'easter brewin'.

Re: Lost UHD support on flashed drive

Just to be clear, it's not "The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted", but a "No disc inserted", correct? Lately, there can be a number reasons for a "The volume key is unknown..." msg.

Re: Lost UHD support on flashed drive

Gently clean one of the problem discs... lint-free cloth, mild dish soap 1st if it's stubborn.

Re: Lost UHD support on flashed drive

Had the blue laser gone kaput, BDs would be a no-go. For the sake of being thorough, have you retried any discs you've previously ripped successfully?

Re: Lost UHD support on flashed drive

If external, power down the drive for ~a minute.

If internal, power down the PC for ~a minute.

Restore power & retry.

Re: Movie and TV Show Naming Procedure

This is helpful too! But what I saw was an actual database where you do a search and it tells you how it’s listed. But then again this might be better since it’s Plex telling you how it needs to be titled. Thanks! I use an old program ( YAMMM ) someone wrote ages ago for WMC. With all the metadata ...

Re: how to combine 2 disc movies?

Hi all I have all the lord of the rings extended edition blurays and have ripped them but they are all 2 discs each and have been acting weird in plex so I was wondering if there was an easy way to merge them together maintaining all the subtitles and such? Re: HK downloading disabled or failed error

I've been getting the following error for some time now: Automatic HK downloading is disabled or failed. I've checked the Preferences and internet access is allowed. It hasn't been a problem up until when I tried to rip the new JFK 4K UHD disc. Not sure if the two are related. I'm currently running...

Re: Any drivers for WH16NS40

I was asking if there any drivers (I mean firmware) for my WH16NS40 Blu-Ray as in if the developer would work on one. Also, the SDFtool says it has a firmware update which I see is not true. LibreDrive Information Status: Possible (with patched firmware) Drive platform: MT1959 Harware support: Yes ...

Re: Paid version doesn't work, beta did

Purchased the new version as the old beta no longer works. Immediately found this was a mistake. A disc I have ripped before with the beta, but that got corrupted and needd to be re-ripped, won't even open in the new PAID version. It sits for hours (well, longer than I was prepaared to wait) and cr...

Re: UHD discs decrypting

Since that location is the standard and eventually used by VLC I just added a line to the FindVUK-Synchronize.bat. So it looks like this: findvuk.exe synchronize copy /Y C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\aacs\keydb.cfg c:\users\USERNAME\.Makemkv\keydb.cfg Just replace USERNAME with your real one. T...

Re: It's a Wonderful Life on 4K UHD Blu-ray

I know this an old post but I just got the 4K and am unable to decode it. Anyone know of a fix Per UHD FAQ : MakeMKV says that "the volume key is unknown for this disc"? MakeMKV produces an AACS .tgz dump file whenever you try to open a disc for which the key is unknown, and will report t...
