Re: No sound when ripping Blu-Ray

Try a different player - Some playback software does not support LPCM completely.

Re: batman under the red hood only ripping at 480 not 1080 h

Are you sure you're looking at the right title? MakeMKV does NOT have a video encoder built into it, so it cannot convert video from one resolution to another. Not all titles on a Bluray are guaranteed to be 1080p; a lot of BDs have extras and such are only DVD quality. Funimation and Sentai Filmwor...

Send the information asked for in the link in my signature to support@makemkv.com for review. Mike will probably ask for more information, but that will get things started.

Re: The other side of the door error code

The log should contain a link to a TGZ file on your system to submit to svq@makemkv.com for review. It will usually be in your MakeMKV data directory, which can be found by looking at Preferences->General

Re: Unable to Specify MKV Filename

Make sure your settings have not changed - that pull-down is controlled by Preferences->Expert mode, which controls ALL advanced menus. If you open Preferences, and do not see the Advanced tab, Expert mode has been turned off.

Re: HEVC Support

Audio is one thing - it is relatively simple. Spend some time over on the handbrake forum (forum.handbrake.fr) and read how complex the OPTIONS for various video encodings are to make them work on different devices. Quite often, the settings you use for one device make the video incompatible with an...

Re: Fabulous Audio Blu Ray

Bluray audio is a mixed affair. You can have 1 channel through the latest Dolby "ten billion channel" (an exaggeration) tracks. Which ones you want depend upon your equipment. Can it handle AAC audio, or is it limited to AC3? DTS/DTS-HD? TrueHD? 7.1 channel?

Re: Fast Five (2011) Blu-Ray - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTAB

The version doesn't matter when the drive says it can't read the disk. When you wiped them clean, did you do it with a dry or damp cloth? More and more, I'm seeing disks that were packaged by machines that leave a slight film on the disks, and it screws up the laser's view of the data. It won't come...

Beta key expires regularly (about 2 months from issue). Purchased keys do not expire.

Re: Star Trek Enterprise (Blu-ray)

I would clean the disks and try again. Often, new disks will have minor marks on them from the machinery that puts them in the package. Sometimes those marks aren't so minor... When a fresh-from-the-package disk fails, a quick wipe with a damp, SOFT cloth (cotton or microfiber) is the first step. Mo...

Re: new version won't run

It should be as simple (on Window or Mac) clicking on Help, Register, then pasting the key into the blank

Linux is done differently. You have to put the key into a file using a text editor, and I don't know what file that is.

Re: 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi

If the error moves around before the read gives up, increasing the number of retries in the Preferences->IO menu can SOMETIMES help. But I wouldn't get ridiculous with it. The default value is 5. I have found that BD drives are not as good at reading DVDs as a "real" DVD drive; I keep a co...
