Re: Best External Blu Ray Drive
If you buy the enclosure separately, you can choose any drive you want, really. I like LGs, others here prefer Pioneer, there are some Sony and Samsung advocates. In my experience, none of these brands have riplock, although Pioneer likes to put their drives into "quiet mode" by default, w...

Re: Best External Blu Ray Drive
So, do you want it to be USB-powered, or are you looking for something in an internal drive that is stuck in a case with a separate power supply? I ask because "fast" and the USB-powered units seems to be conflicting ideas. The USB units are essentially laptop drives in an enclosure, and s...

Re: basic instructions not clear on how to copy
The buttons at the top are, left to right, "Open" (same as big button), "Backup", "Save selected titles" (duplicates a button that is on the screen after you Open the disk), "Stream" (something I'm told works, but I never use), "Preferences", and &qu...

Re: Strange problem after ripping - only half movie converte
When using "Backup", you are depending upon the player to understand the BD structure. If the file structure has issues (such as putting fake titles in that aren't complete), the player has to know how to select the correct play list to get the whole movie. Using "Open" and savin...

Re: basic instructions not clear on how to copy
In VLC, you should open the index.bdmv file in the BDMV directory. But if you're looking to copy the individual movie, you should not be using "Backup" mode - you should click on the large button that looks like a disk, and open the disk instead. Then you can select the main feature, and c...

002003:0000 Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading '/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_1.VOB' at offset '3910938624' These types of errors are most likely due to dirty disks, although there can be other reasons. The fact that the error doesn't move around means that it is a...

Re: DVDs no longer recognized by MakeMKV
Make sure you do not have an "Auto Play" application for DVD active. It could be that Windows is recognizing the DVD, and trying to start its default player.
The best policy, in any case, is to disable all auto-play features in Windows.

Re: Playback Issue with MakeMKV Rips
Are you seeing high CPU usage on Plex? Both pictures are consistent with the player or Plex not being able to keep up with the video bandwidth.
Plex will try to recode the video if the client profile says to do so. Depending on your hardware, it may not be able to do that in real time at full size.

Re: Error code and will not get sound on Blueray movie
For the first problem, try a previous version. Older versions can be downloaded here: http://makemkv.org/download/old/ Sound is probably due to your player not supporting the audio codec of the primary English track. OR, if you've selected a "preferred language", the default selection rule...

Not sure that we can help. And the people who probably can say their server crashed, and only their wiki is available.

We'll have to wait for Mike on this.
I've seen them, too, but, personally, I disregard any debug codes UNLESS there is a problem with the rip. Some may be just status messages, rather than announcing errors.

Re: Help for create a XML profile
There is a way to assign higher weighting to a particular language, but that is beyond what I use. I normally process the files afterward with handbrake, which allows more complete control of audio and subtitle tracks, so I do not assign weighting in MakeMKV.

Re: Error copying Shutter Island
The power issue is a tricky thing to hunt down. I first encountered it with a friend whose USB disk drives went off-line whenever he printed... on his USB-attached (but not powered) printer. The hub he was plugged into couldn't handle the load of talking to all those devices at the same time. When h...

Re: MakeMKV No longer backs up Blu-rays
It depends on your operating system and options. In Windows, for example, IF you have the Taskbar enabled, you can right-click on the time display, and select "Adjust Date/Time". A window will pop up with a button to "change date and time". Click it. Under date, find and click on...
